Stayed for a week on B&B basis, restaurant was so good we had evening meals in most nights.(Set menu - with choices E20) Our room overlooked the sea so you could see the sun rise from the bed. Carpet in the bedroom a little tired (apparently due to be replaced over winter) but otherwise all good. Reception & staff pleasant & helpful. Location next to bus station ideal for getting around, cable car a few hundred metres and main town just a short walk. Don't forget to ask for the 'complimentary robes & slippers.

This hotel has been well reviewed and having spent two weeks there in October 2011 I can appreciate the points (both good and not so good) previous reviewers have made. We were on a package tour but elected to upgrade to a seaview room and also opted for the Half Board option. Plus points are the location which is excellent (and critical in Taormina), the views from the seaview rooms, the public areas and the generally friendly and helpful staff. The rooms do vary both in location and state (some have been refurbished). Ours was of adequate size, clean but a little tired (eg carpet) and the towels were somewhat rough. The breakfast buffet is extensive and early breakfasts for excursions are well catered floor. The evening meals were somewhat problematical being variable in quality with some very good dishes and others less good creating the overall impression that the chefs were operating to a tight budget. Overall we were satified with our choice of the Ariston and like a previous reviewer would like to have given it a score of 3.5. Perhaps my biggest gripe was the charge of Eur 7 per hour for wi-fi internet access. As others have noted, with modest investment and some effort (and a free wi fi hub) this hotel could be an absolute gem.

Recently spent 3 nights in this hotel along with 3 other couples (family members). We all loved the setting (overlooking the sea and unbelievable sunrises) and the fruit bowl and Spumante in our rooms when we arrived. The rooms were very suitable and clean and slippers and robes were left in our room. The breakfast buffet was fantastic with a wide variety of fresh fruits, breads, vegetables, cereals , eggs, and on and on and on. The only drawback for some of our party was the uphill walk from the parking area below...but everyone managed! We all said we would return to this hotel in the future.

If I could ave chosen 3.5 stars I would have done.

Overall this hotel is of a good standard. The room was a little dated in its décor but a good size and had good storage, I appreciated the free spumante and fresh fruit in the room on arrival and the tea and coffee in the rooms. The view from the balcony was lovely. The room walls are disappointing very thin and noise can be heard from above and at the sides. Also the shower did leak a bit and caused a little bit of smell.

The breakfast was mostly good except the hot food which was very limited, and very bland as nothing was seasoned and the scrambled egg was disgusting. However, there was a very good selection of fresh fruit, fresh orange juice, croissants and brioches.

The outside areas around the hotel are well kept and the hotel is reasonably attractive.

Reception staff were helpful and the bar drinks where in line with prices in Taormina.

The location is very close to the centre and very useful for local buses and excursions pick ups.

We did not eat at the hotel because there are so many restaurants to chose from in Taormina.

I would go back to this hotel as relative to other hotels in Taormina it is reasonably priced and in a good location. Taormina overall is a very expensive place to holiday.
