The hotel is set high on the craggy cliffs above the bus station that acts as the centre for all travel activity in Taormina. The hotel rises from a steep slope to an underground tunnel with circular windows to the water in the deep swimming pool. A lift takes you to the 1st terrace where in the Summer I guess doing takes place. Then up some stairs to the reception terrace. The staff were calm and helpful. The room was clean and modern and well presented with a small balcony overlooking a glorious view of the coastline and the sea. Rooms on a lower level have a larger balcony with chairs and a table. The breakfast bar has a lot of everything to suit all national tastes but the cooked elements are a weak point - tasteless scrambled egg and strange paper-thin bacon and frankfurters. We had two evening meals while we were there one was good and the other so-so but reasonably priced. The wide range of restaurants nearby requires a walk down to the bus station and up a hill to the town centre that has numerous restaurants. Thompsons organised the trip and did a fantastic job - the rep. was brilliant - especially as my disability required passenger assistance at airports - which they did with aplomb.
