This is a nice hotel in a good location, about 10-15 mins walk to the main piazza in Siracusa, and about 20 mins walk in the opposite direction to the train station. The staff are lovely and always happy to help with advice on transport, booking taxis etc... Breakfast is delicious - fresh fruit, huge croissants - and there was still plenty of food left even on the days when we ate near to the end of breakfast time.
The rooms are a bit hit and miss - our first room was very small, dark and had the tiniest bathroom I have ever experienced. There is a new hotel being constructed directly next to the Posta, so our little balcony looked onto about six stories of scaffolding. However, we spoke to the manageress and she was extremely helpful and understanding. She moved us to a different room (a triple), which was very large and had a generously-sized bathroom. I am very grateful to her for not quibbling at all. Very effective air-conditioning in the rooms - in fact it blasts out freezing cold so would be great in the height of the summer! Towels don't get changed every day, so if you prefer that then you may have to make a special request.
There is also a little roof terrace with lovely views to the sea, with loungers and a table/chairs. It's a great little sun trap and very peaceful.
Siracusa itself is absolutely beautiful. I have visited all over Italy but Siracusa stands out as one of the prettiest, most charming places. The main piazza is gleaming white, with nice bars along one side. The side streets are just gorgeous - flower covered balconies, pretty little shops - I would happily have lived on any one of them.
