This is a stylish "designer" hotel that emphasizes its fitness and spa facilities. The fitness room takes up most of the ground floor, while the small bar and restaurant are squeezed to the rear. The rooms are stark and trendy. Only a few rooms of the hotel were occupied during my stay yet i was placed in a tiny single room with single bed - adequate, but hardly welcoming. The bathroom was a wetroom with shower - no bathtub. Water from the shower went everywhere. I'm glad i didnt have to share with a partner.
Staff were friendly and helpful, but only responded to direct questions. There was no information offered about hotel facilities offered or even available in the room.
Breakfast was a cold buffet with greta freshly-made coffee. Everything presented was in miniture! From pastries to single grapes and satsuma sections artfully arranged and a (small platter)
I don't want to give the impression that I didn't like the hotel - I did. It was stylish and quirky. Obviously someone has realised a dream to create an extraordinary hotel.
However the main drawback is the location. It is in a residential area - far from the tourist sights and services in town. You need a car and if you arrive in darkness, be prepared for a hard time finding the place. You can walk down to Ortygia. I made it in about 40 mins brisk walk downhill - but it wasnt a very interesting walk through decrepit residential areas. The archaeological musuem is closer - about 15 mins walk and the park with the Greek theatre another 10 mins walk beyond that (I walk fast). I paid 70 Euros a night for single room with breakfast and thought that was about right for the style/location trade off.
