I think for the price there are hotels which are a little closer to the central area. The hotel itself was fine and our room (a junior suite) was very spacious. It may have been the time of year that is was, but there were a number of things that really didn't leave a great impression. If a comfortable bed is what you want, then this may not be the place....the mattress was rock hard. We are used to a very firm mattress but this was not giving in any way. We arrived on Dec. 30th and I asked about places for dinner for that night and for New Years Eve and was told that I didn't need reservations. The recommended place on the 30th was OK and then on the 31st the place they recommended was closed. We found a wonderful restaurant on our own and had a wonderful time. We arrived back to the hotel to find out that in the private dining room next to our room there was a private party that was going to go until 3AM.....fine.....but at 6AM still to have noise and furniture being moved was unacceptable. We complained to the front desk and they just shrugged it off. New Years day our room was not cleaned and when I asked the front desk, they said that was impossible! There are some very beautiful hotels in Palermo, so I am sure that if we were to return I would look elsewhere for accomodations.
