The location of this hotel is great - a walking distance from the central station and some main attractions in the city. The second plus is that they keep it clean and the staff generally are kind.
The shortcomings - the furniture in the rooms is far from nice, the wardrobes smell and the beds in the twin rooms are narrow. The breakfast is the same every day.
All in all, if you need only a relatively cheap place to sleep, at a good location this is your hotel.

Ok hotel, on 3rd floor on Via Roma. Walking distance from Central Station and all attractions. Desk helpful, not exceptionally friendly. Main attraction is reasonable price.

stayed here for 55euro per nite. It was very basic but it was perfect for what we wanted.....cheap, central and free parking around the corner. (on the street)
There were two beds pushed together, one was like a rock, the other soft - I got the rock!! GRR!!

This hotel was booked solely on the basis of price and proximity to the Central Station in Palermo - we were arrving relatively late, and picking up a hire car early the next morning to set out to drive round the Island. This is a very traditional Italian city-centre hotel, situated on the 3rd floor of a large block, and accessed by an old-fashioned lift. The decor was very plain, and dominated by reproducitons of religious paintings. A small amount of ceiling painting has been preserved on the vaulted celing of the breakfast room. Everythign was clean and worked well, the breakfast was a bit basic and they charged us for a seond cup of coffee. What made it stand out a bit above the rest was the warm and friendly quality of the service, the night porter being particularly helpful in finding us a (very good) restaurant which was still serving at a relatively late hour. I wouldn't go there for an extended stay, but it was great as a pit stop.
