“Comfortable for a short stay but get up early for breakfast!”

We stayed at the hotel towards the end of Sept and as mentioned by others it is equipped with big spacious rooms and comfortable beds which were all maintained to a high standard of cleanliness. Our room had a kitchenette in a large cupboard which was useful for preparing light meals and making tea but would probably not be sufficient for main dining. Beware though: when we booked the room it was suggested that the kitchen was included in the price but on arrival at the hotel we were told we would have to pay extra to have the kitchen 'unlocked' for us. We did question this and were granted free access in the end. It is advisable to get to breakfast early as seating is at a premium and some items will run out and not be replaced. Staff were not terribly responsive to the needs of the hotel guests and their approach to service was somewhat chaotic. Otherwise it is conveniently located to all the usual services ie bus, trains, bars etc and the older part of town.

Room Tip: Although balconies are small, in the heat of an evening in Sicily it is very pleasant to sit outside...

lovely B@N centrally located, easy walking distance to all sites, clean and friendly, with good (but expensive) parking nearby - cannot checkin after 1 pm but they leave your keys at a nearby hotel with a phone no. in case of emergencies.

Room Tip: upper floor as quite and cool

“Very nice”

'We stayed at Residenza d'Aragona in July. The hotel is very well located, charmimg and the rooms are wonderfully spacious. We are a family of 5 and our room was 2 bedroom very confortable. One sofa bed had done its time, but overall a wonderfull stay. Nadia was there to great us as we arrived and as I approached her and said Ciao Nadia? she quickly responded and called me by name. I felt like we had been there before. We were in walking distance to everything; historical, shopping, restaurants etc. When I go back to Palermo, this is where I will come and stay.

“Comfortable and ok for a short stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2011

My wife and i and our adult son stayed at the Residenza d'Aragona in August 2011 for the last three nights of our trip to Sicily (first seven nights in Taormina). We had two rooms conveniently located opposite each other. When i booked the rooms i mistakenly thought this was a hotel, but in fact it is a B&B that only has staff in the lobby in the morning for breakfast and of course to receive guests as they arrive. The breakfast consists of the usual rolls, ham, cheese, croissants, boiled eggs, fruit and tea/coffee which was quite adequate - get there early though as the room is quite small and gets busy. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable with efficient aircon and free wireless connectivity. There are 'Blue' parking spaces nearby where you can park but you will need to purchase the parking scratch cards from the Tobacconist nearby (Euro 0.75 per hour), also there is a private car park around the corner (Car Rental place) that offers secure parking for Euro 15 per night. I would say that the staff are friendly enough, but certainly not overly cheerful. The 'hotel' is on the Via d'Aragona just off Via Roma. It is a real backstreet, not really shown on the picture, but it seems safe enough and is well placed for a short walk to restaurants and some of the key sights - we used the hop-on hop-off bus to get an idea of where best to walk to on other days; make sure you add the trip to Monreal for the extra Euro 5 as it is a really nice place and well worth the visit. In all a good stop over B&B, but if you are staying for longer than a couple of days you may wish to opt for somewhere with more facilities.

“Guard your personal belongings.”

Had a bracelet stolen from our room. Reception closes at 1 pm everyday so no one is on site to answer questions/concerns, etc. There is a black & white notebook to write your questions in & someone checks it periodically. Stayed in 3 other hotels in Italy during our trip - never had a problem like this.
