The Hotel looked nothing like the picture on the website, but it was still very nice.
The room was clean and the bathroom was spacious. The bed was comfortable and the room was cleaned every day.
The hotel was on a side street just off a main road, so it was close to all the hustle and bustle but was still quiet enough at night to sleep.
The breakfast was not worth going down to, but there were plenty of other coffee shops down the main road to grab a croissant and a coffee.
Overall, the hotel was clean and comfortable, and was worth what I paid.

Unique Qualities: The bathroom was a pleasant surprise, very clean and spacious.

About 1km walk from the central railway station and buses and a good base to see Palermo sites. Only 5 minutes walk from the excellent Archeological Museum. The hotel is just behind Via Roma so can be noisy from traffic. However this compensated by good room/bathroom, Twinings tea at breakfast and extra-helpful reception staff.

It’s always difficult to reach an hotel in the center of an old city.
Hotel Posta lies in a very narrow street parallel to the Via Roma (there is a big sign near the immense Post-building to find the hotel).
The street is so narrow that it is nearly impossible to stop in front to unload, luckily the reception gives a helping hand.
The parking of the hotel was full, so they said to find a place in the narrow streets.
You have to be an experienced driver in a modest-sized car to park here.
The day we left it took us 15 minutes of manoeuvring our car out of these streets.
The hotel is old, the rooms are modest but it’s enough for a stay to visit the city.
The breakfast was also rather simple.
The biggest advantage is that you can visit Palermo without taking your car or public transport.
So, recommandable for the city-tripper who wants to impress his companions with his driving and parking skills.

We stayed at the Hotel Posta 3 nights, and had them park our car. Our room, on the north side alley, was clean. While there was some traffic noise, it was quiet at night. The staff was very helpful, and several of them spoke very good English. Rates seemed very competitive for the area (112 euros/night incl breakfast, + 12 for parking).

Breakfasts were pleasant, with seconds on good cappucino. A computer off the main lobby was convenient for low-priced internet service.

The location is especially good for walking around Palermo sights. Restaurants nearby were touristy, but pizzerias and snack bars were good - this is where the natives seemed to eat at 10 or 11 PM. Gli Amanti a couple of blocks away was especially nice - good service, snacks, pizza or meals indoors and outdoors and to carry out.

Palermo is tought to drive into or out of - poorly signed roads, few major intersections or routes marked (though if you find Via Roma, Hotel Posta's sign makes them easy to find). On a return we might stay in Monreale to avoid the driving hassle, and bus to Palermo. But if we stay in Palermo, we'd return to Hotel Posta.
