“Clean, basic but overpriced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2009

Overall, the hotel was a nice experience, the staff especially was very very friendly and are always ready to help. It has not been built for a hotel, as one can expect, rather the rooms have been converted into a hotel from 2 old houses. But the hotel is overpriced and too costly, presumably because it is very central, and you can reach everywhere on foot.

“Good central choice for all the major sites”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 July 2009

The hotel is located one street back from Via Roma and benefits from its quieter location. Other central hotels are not quite so lucky facing onto the heaving Palermo traffic. One piece of advice: don't bother hiring a car. It can be madness!

The Hotel Posta is a great little oice. A small hotel and spotlessly clean throughout, the rooms have very efficient air-conditioning - an absolute necessity during high summer. Also, very comfortable beds. The decoration is admittedly slightly dated but perfectly acceptable although they could do with upating the 1980s TVs

Staff are very friendly and do their best to speak some English which can be helpful.. Breakfast is pretty basic but they do make good coffees to order.

Overall: a good choice for a city with a surprising lack of affordable, central hotels.

“Overrated”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 April 2009

The hotel is very centrical, and this is basically the only good thing about this hotel. Several reasons support this judgement:

- Rooms have been renovated (this is not the case of the corridors..), but the furniture is very basic. We barely used the wardrobe because the doors didn't slide at all. Also, electrical light was so poor, that in the night it was impossible to read a book. Finally, the WC cistern was leaking all the time, and we had to close the door to be able to sleep.

- Breakfast is very poor. Few choices, plastic glasses,.... and above all, a gloomy room.
Everything was far from a welcoming room and a nice morning breakfast. Just some bad bread, butter, 1 type of juice, 1 type of cereals, and some pastries.

- The staff was not very hepful or nice, especially the 2 men in reception. The 2 women, also in reception, were more kind and had a better attitude.

- The hotel offers parking place... Well, you bring your car and you will find a tiny, uncomfortable garage, where is almost impossible to maneuver because the staff of the hotel park their car just in front of the garage (where it is precisaly forbidden in order to facilitate entrance and exit of the garage). Besides that, parking must be paid in cash, but, oh, suprise, they didn't have any change... So finally the taxi driver who picked up us in the hotel lent some cash to the hotel receptionist.... Surrealistic.

- Prices are overrated in comparison with the services they offer in return.

In sum, the hotel is not well run. It has a very good location, but they know it, and they take advantage of that. There is not attention to details and no much will of doing a proper work. They must correct several things if they want to be nice and efficient hotel.

“Great Hotel, Great Staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 May 2008

Hotel Posta is a short taxi ride from the train station and well located in the heart of Palermo. The hotel staff is very friendly and receptive to answering all of our questions. The rooms are nice with sufficient room. Although the entrance is from a narrow street fifty feet from the main street is well marked and not difficult to find. We highly recommend Hotel Posta.
