If ever you travel to Sicily, I would highly recommend paying up for the best possible hotel. The Cristal Palace was listed as 3 stars, but wasn't at all what I hoped for. The twin room had two "little boy" beds in it (you know the beds that are about a foot off the floor and measure 3 by 6 feet)! The breakfast was terrible, but better than nothing (I guess) and the service was terrible. Thankfully the room was clean. A female night manager lied to me about Internet access and a bus stop location. The day manager "Marco" tried his best to help us and you could tell he was a hard worker. Palermo was beautiful, but unless you're headed to a resort area, Sicily isn't tourist friendly and is even dirtier than Rome.

We have been very disappointed then arrived to Palermo and found that it's closed, and renovation is ongoing, we have been transferred in to another, so called, hotel located in big building but hotel is only on one (first) floor, all windows dimmed, and then open it you can see all the conditioning systems of the building. This hotel discredits Palermo, and doing of business can't be like this. My wife was in shock, we didn't received any information before, no via e-mail or phone. Beware of hotel.

I enjoyed the stay here, the location was quite central, the staff were polite and the hotel was generally quite clean. The rooms were well kept and comfortable. There's not much of a bar though. We had an inclusive continental breakfast, however it had quite a limited choice. Also the lift was tiny and always took ages to come. However overall it was a good and comfortable stay and I would recommend it.

Fantastic location on Via Roma right in the center of Palermo with many restaurants and great shopping nearby. Spacious room and comfortable bed, large washroom (For Italy) and good selection at cold breakfast. Quiet and good value for price. Reception was efficient and good guidebooks/map to Palermo available at reception.
