Enjoy Palermo without the noise and traffic - in an historic converted paper mill - just beside Monreale. The Hotel does look impressive and the girl on the desk is helpful but at 9.30 at night we can get nothing to eat or drink not even a cup of coffee. The room is large but rather worn and the beds are very hard. Our friends who arrived earlier had eaten " a very poor rissotto" in the restaurant. They changed rooms because the toilet cistern ran persistantly and noisily. We had a huge vocal alsation under our window and every garden in the "quiet" area had a barking dog taking turns to set each other off, so it was not an undisturbed night. There is a lovely courtyard and the staff we saw were friendly but it did not fulfil its "find" status from the Fromer guide and it was much further from Monreale than it said.
