The Murano chandelier in the entrance hall is a real beauty and so are the little touches of other Murano glass in the rooms. This is not a pretentious hotel but it has the best to offer, an amazing feeling of space and a view on the strait which can't be beaten. It was such a pleasure to see the ever changing spectacle of the boats and the light in the morning and return to it at night. We went there for a conference having booked to this hotel for only 3 nights and decided to stay for 7. The breakfast is excellent , you can even taste the famous sicilian cassata, or the almond milk and nibble almonds or pistachios which are local products. It is true that the net curtains are a bit grey but the friendly attitude of the people who make sure you are comfortable and will always help you with timetable or other questions more than makes up for it, We loved our stay there.and felt at home. After all it is also a real piece of contemporary architecture from the 50s which needs to keep its features to bring out his true charm. Typical subdued green and yellow colour in the breakfast room with a terracota colour marble floor, everything is understated but of real beauty and, given some small changes like new bedcovers it iwould be a really grand hotel.
