“VALUE FOR MONEY”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 May 2010

It was my 12 th visit to this wonderfull hotel were the food is more than to ones appetite with a large selection of food including Pasta, meat and fish which menu is changed every day. Breakfast is so good and ample that will keep you going for the rest of the day with not wanting anything else to eat until it is time for dinner.
The staff are always helpfull both at the reception desk and in the restaurant.
I cannot but give full credit to Ms Cettina and Mr Antonio behind the bar in the way they make all welcome with their pleasant smile and service.

I will definitly go to this Hotel many more times as it is realy Value for money .

One has to try it out to confirm what I have written.

“Great time in nice hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2009

I stayed in the hotel one week in August 2009 and I admit that I was quite suprised. Hotel is clean, room are well found and view on centre of Letojanni is great. Pool on the upper deck - in Olimpo part of hotel- is nice, view is perfect and kids are coming after 4, 5 pm so until that time is silent and almost empty. Regarding food - breakfast is "italian" style - more sweat buns, croissants with chocolate but also eggs and sausage, however diiner is great - everyday different rissoto which is delicious, pasta and type of meat, selection of cheeses and olives. Sometimes I couldnt move from the table its was so delicious - only one weak point were soups - terrible. Service are helpful and nice once I met girl in reception who didnt speak English. Beach is located near hotel - 5-7 minutes walking distance however its crowded. On the street near entry to the tunnel of Hotel is bus stop - bus to Taormina, Messina.

“Enjoyable stay/very good hotel”

Stayed at hotel for a week end of May 2008 - two adults and 1 eight years old child. Hotel was clean, service very good and staff ie animators and at restaurant were very friendly. We were stunned by the magnificent views from the hotel. It is ideal location to explore the east coast of Sicily. Could hire a car or book some of the many day excursions at the hotel.
It is useful to know that there is a regular shuttle from the hotel to the neighbouring village of Taormina. Access to one of the beach facilities- Lido Tropicana - was inclusive of parasol and two loungers. We enjoyed sharing time between the beach and at the hotel pools too. The water in the latter was warmer while the sea was a bit too cold for enjoyable swim.

“Not a Four Star Hotel!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2007

Five of us , 4 adults & one child stayed at Antares for 2 weeks in August. The hotel was not what we were expecting, & does not live up to the brochure. The rooms were clean & tidy, but the buffet food was not of a very high standard. It was very repetitive & uninspiring! The staff & reception were far from helpfull, verging on rude & ignorant. My friend had a very expensive shoe mysteriously disappear from her room , & the ensuing communication with the rep & hotel staff was a total nightmare. If you are an Italian tourist you're fine. The hotel is not geared up for British tourists. As a group we are well travelled, & have travelled to Italy many times, but the atmosphere & reception on Sicily is quite different.
The inconsistant transport to Taormina was a bind, as buses were often full or didn't turn up! We did hire a car which was well worth it. Letojanni does not have much going for it, bars & cafes are minimal.
It was nice to visit Sicily , but I would not recommend it, & would be unlikely to return.

“Not good if you don't like walking up a 1in1”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 July 2007

Hotel clean and staff brilliant food was good but if you are staying in the antares the broucher forgot to tell you about the views they are realy good apart from the M6 that is between the hotel and the beach you don't have to cross it but you can see it and hear it.
The lift down to the bottom of the hill is through the rock, makes a lot of noise and is quite scarry but better than walking. Chris Bonnington has base camp half way up the hill to the hotel!!!!! There is nothing on the sea front but go to Toamina its brilliant during the day and night. BE CAREFUL don't have a drink in the Wunderbar (4 Large beers 2 small beers and 4 lemonade 66euros) Overall a nice holiday but a bit quite and not a lot of English people. Not very suitable if you teenagers and they would be very bored. The Mount Etna trip was brilliant.
