“Do not look any more BW is here!”

I stayed for three nights in Best Western. Service is excellent, the stuff is really helpful. Breakfast is OK but it could be slightly more various. I arrived by car, and had no difficulties finding parking around of the hotel. There are lots of free parking spaces. Of course, you can always park your car in the hotel garage for a price (I think it is 13€/day). Great starting position to explore Catania, Etna, Taormina, Syracuse... I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Dear 'Ivica987', thank you for the suggestion to increase the variety of the items we serve at breakfast. We appreciate any ideas that help us to satisfy more our guests. By the way, the cost of the parking space is only 9 Euro for a standard car for the whole day. Once you park, you can then explore the city on foot or by bus.

“Best Western - Excellent”

Hotel Mediterraneo is the best hotel in Catania, Sicily. I use this hotel from the 2005 and for sure I suggest everyone this best western Hotel. Centrally located with about a 10-15min downhill walk away from the beautiful park of Giardino Bellini, and Via Etnea Road. Every time I use this hotel always clean and the staff was incredibly helpful. They were always willing to help clients with directions.

The breakfast always satisfying including deli meats and cheese, cereal, yogurt, fresh and canned fruit, jellies and other spreads, cappuccino, coffee, tea that are available as part of the breakfast).

I would definitely recommend this hotel to others traveling in the area.

Thanks for your review. The two aspects you highlighted, that is our being at walking distance from the Central Garden in Catania (Villa Bellini) and the main road of the City (Via Etnea) and the quality of our breakfast, move many other people from Malta to book a room at Best Western Mediterraneo in Catania and to return here from time to time. We hope that your recommendation will encourage others to follow your example.

“Typical Best Western quality.”

Yet again Best Western provide a good service. The hotel Mediterraneo is par for the course in this respect. Freindly staff, comfy beds and a fair price. What more could you ask for.

Tea and Coffee are available in the room, ample storage space and everything was clean and in good order. Breakfast was OK, although no cooked option was available. Wifi on the fourth floor was not great, weak signal and not very fast. This is a shame as an additional access point is relatively cheap and would make a big difference.

I arrived by taxi ( €30 from the airport ) and was glad I did not hire a car, parking would of been a nightmare not to mention the insane traffic. Also a taxi into the old centre set me back €13 for 4 km trip.. but as it was raining hard, I had little choice.

Thank you 'Charlie3Zero' not only for your words of appreciation but also for your timely suggestions. It is true that we do not offer 'cooked options' for breakfast, but that depends on the fact that we don't have a kitchen. We do serve anyway boiled eggs in the morning to solve partially the problem. We have also forwarded your indications about wi-fi to the company providing this service in our hotel. But we agree with with you when you say that the best way to enjoy the city is to park the car and walk around on foot. Next time you need a Taxi, we advise you to use the local Radiotaxi company as it offers cheaper fares.

I use this hotel several times in the year when I go to Catania. The hotel situated about a 15 minute walk to the main square and shops. You can also pass for the center from Giardino Bellini that is one of the best gardens in Sicily. The rooms are comfortable and very clean, fresh towels and bedding each day. There is a computer in lobby for free use. Also in every room there is free safety deposit box and Tv with aprox 800 tv stations. The staff are so brilliant and helpful they spoke english for those who don't know much the Italian language.
