“I felt raped by the price!”

I read too many reviews that are bad and written by people that seem to not be very lenient. I AM a lenient person and don't have high expectations.
The beds had springs digging into our backs. The TV's screen was smaller than my laptop's screen and there was no was to control the heat in the room.
I could have put up with everything, but the PRICE!!! GOOD GOSH! What rapage! 92 Euros for one of the nights!!!
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE don't let them do this to you too. We stayed for 4 nights and I swear we payed as much for the hotel as we spent on entire trips to Rome, Paris, London, Malta, Krakow.
When I told the guy at the front desk on the last day "It's expensive!!!", he tried to pretend he didn't understand. I translated into French, Spanish and even mimed it to him. He shrugged his shoulders and said "booking.com".

“Good value and the best locaton”

The hotel reception was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The room, while fairly simple was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was good and the best about ths hotel is the location - walking distance to all the sites, shopping (not that theres much) and restaurants, cafes and bars as well as the train and bus stations (take the 1/2 hourly bus to and from the airport for only 2 euros each way if you're on a budget - its very easy). I felt very safe and at home and enjoyed my stay. For a reasonably cheap hotel you can't fault it.

“Great Location, Basic but Spotless”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2009

The hotels location is second to none, absolutely perfect. I'd read some negative reviews and got a bit nervous, but to be honest I was worrying about nothing. Yes it's basic, but it's spotlessly clean and the bathroom was well equipped, modern and spacious. Breakfast runs from 0700 untiil 1030 which is helpful if you have a late night the night before. It's a basic affair at breakfast but more than ample, fruit would be a nice addition, but the bread, cold meats, cheeses and fantastic coffee set me up well for the day. All in all a decently priced, clean and perfectly located hotel.

“Soulless hotel, but overall ok. Perfect location!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2009

The location is perfect; many restaurants near by and in walking distance to the must-see spots. The room was clean (they clean it every day) even if we were welcomed by a cockroach when first entered our room. When we got rid of it, we didn´t have any more "visits" of this kind.
The staff do not speak much english, so it is nice to know a few words of italian (but you will get by even if you do not speak italian, but with a little bit of patience). I would not say the service is good, not one smile...
We never tried breakfast in the hotel, so I don´t know the quality of this.
Internet access in the bar down stairs.
When this is said, I do love the location, but there are many other hotels in the area, so I think I would try an other one next time I visit Cagliari.

“Fantastic location”

When we first arrived at Hotel Italia we found the hotel to be smart with an average standard. The receptionist was friendly and followed us to the room. The room was large and clean, but we immediately found a cockroach. The receptionist seemed stressed about it and ran around trying to catch it, but it disappeared and he had to give up. (We found it later and the roach now swims with the fishes). Besides this little incident the room was clean and neat. It was cleaned every day. The hotel bar was rather cozy with free wifi (not in the rooms) with lots of people gathering. Outside the hotel lies several very nice restaurants (the hotel is in the Marina area - the restaurant area), and with a 5 min walk to the old town, Castillo.
