“Could be better at the same price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

I stayed at this hotel during the second weekend of September: on the occasion of a wedding in Alghero I needed a hotel accommodation (b&b) and, since I was not willing to spend too much, there was very little choice despite the bathing season was almost over. I booked a single room, while my parents stayed in a double room. Both rooms enjoyed a nice overlook on the pool; the double room was on the second floor, the single one was on the third floor.
My room was very small and uncomfortable so that I even had not a place where to open my suitcase, only the mini corridor between the closet and the bathroom door. Furniture is old-fashioned, the bathroom small but functional. One thing that surprised me very much was the terrace of my room: big, definitely too big and useless, the space might be better managed realizing more spacious rooms; the double room instead had a balcony of the right size and the room was therefore spacious and comfortable for two people.
The air conditioning system was turned off (being September) and so we suffered a lot from the heat and humidity, especially at night. The hotel does not have a laundry/ironing service, and it was my negligence not controlling this thing before booking. Also I noted that bed linen and bathroom linen were worn by repeated washings in industrial laundries and leave a sort of fluff that sticks on your skin and clothes.
Breakfast is good, there is enough choice and cakes&pastries are very good. The espresso is not available in the restaurant, but you have to go out and have it at the pool bar where you cannot pay cash but only with the special prepaid card that must be requested at reception on arrival (nobody told me about this when I checked-in, I was told by the bartender in an impolite/annoyed way).
In the end a lot of negative details made my stay (2 nights) quite uneasy. Probably in high season the service is better, but my disappointment is for the small room with unjustifiably huge terrace.
On the other hand a good feature is the location -close to the beach (I didn’t go to) and not too far from the town center- that makes Oasis preferable to other hotels.

Room Tip: single rooms are too small, better ask for a double for single use.

“Beach, peace, pool ? This is it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

Spent one week with a 3 year old and a baby. We were looking for:
- peaceful area of outside town
- close to the beach
- HB
- apartment being cleaned once a day
- hotel pool
This is what you then need. 200m to the beach where they had a basic restaurant serving pasta, meat and drinks/coffee + another kiosk/bar close to it. Clear water, around 20C in mid-October. Perfect for kids (water not deep until 100m further out)
Hotel has hotel rooms and apartment. Apart. are basic but has what u need. Bring washing up liquid, washing up brush and soap for handwash/shower.
Breakfast is standard with some fruit, cheese, ham, cornflakes, youghert and not forgetting a large selection of cakes they have in Italy.
Dinner is starters, choice from 2 pastas, choice from meat/fish and sweets. Coffee from the bar that closes midnight.
Pool open 10am-6pm. Not heated. Nice pool area with palm trees.
2.5km into town. 30 mins quick walk or 50 min slow, or 10 min woth the buss that goes from 7am in the morning 'til 20.45 in the evening. Stops 50 m from the hotel.
Employees very kind and helpful.
Small playground for kids
Got taxi to/from hotel from airport, 25-30 euro, 10 mins drive. Hotel can order for you.

Will go back.

“Great food in a lovely setting”

Although this hotel is about 30 minutes away from the town of Alghero, I had a wonderfully relaxing time here. Though it is true that the rooms are not very sound proofed and noise carries throughout the hotel.
The gardens are lovely and the pine forest opposite provides even more lush vegetation.
If you can book the top floor overlooking the pool ( rooms 301- 319 are the best [ odd numbers only] ) you will have great views.

The buffet dinner is well worth opting for with varied salads and all tastes catered for.

A great place to stay in early October when the tourists have disappeared but many things will be in the the process of closing down or have closed. So providing that doesn't bother you, ENJOY.

Room Tip: top floor rooms numbers 301- 319 ( odd numbers only) overlooking the pool have the best views.

“Plenty to offer and is worth thinking about”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

I went 1st week September and even though the Hotel could do with an update and the bedrooms were basic they are clean and the showers are very powerful and plenty of hot water any time, it had everything that you need, your on holiday not at home. Just one point in September you would not need air con in the rooms at night but in mid summer I'm guessing it is a must but the 6 euros a night I think is a bit steep, most holiday company's say you have to pay for air con but not how much....The hotel is privately owned and the staff are brilliant, very friendly and helpful and would do anything for you. The bedroom walls are not very thick and depending on what the people next door are like you can get noise transfer, people next door to me snored and kepted waking me up, but I am a light sleeper. Also be aware rooms facing the car park, about 5-5.30am delivery lorries turn up and keep the engine running for about 5 mins.

The food in the hotel (breakfast & dinner) is very nice and has plenty to choose from, I am a little fussy but had no problems with eating to much, the fish was great.

The outside space round by the pool (the pool is a good size) is very peaceful and has a part time life guard which keeps the area clean and tidy. There is a bar for drinks and snacks, a Pizzera just across the car park outside the hotel or a Mini Market on site. The beach is across a quiet road and 100 meter path goes through the pine forrest onto a white sandy beach and there are plenty of bars (with toliets). You can higher a parasol and 2 loungers for the day approx 12 euros or lay your beach towel down for free.

Alghero town itself is about 45 min walk or a bus ride (turns up when it likes) or there is a train (it a motor vehicle done as a train) that runs from from the hotel to the town centre for 5 euros return or taxi. Alghero is a beautiful old town that sits on a marina and has lots of little shops, cafe, restaurants or touristy things. On Wednesday not far from Oasis Hotel (10 min walk) is market day, a huge market selling everything and worth a walk round. If you want a day out, and it is a long day, then go to Corsica via ferry for the day, that place is Wow....it is stunning......

Sardinia is beautiful like main land Italy but it is not manic with mad car drivers and mopeds, it is very chilled, relaxed and layed back and you can do as little or as much as you like.

I did a last minute and went on my own to get some much missed sunshine and I would certainly go again, for a 2 hour flight from the UK it was worth it.

Room Tip: Rooms can be a little nosiy depends on how heavy you sleep

“Nice place, but extremely noisy”

The hotel is clean, lush vegetation, the pool is nice, it is very close to a nice beach, but if you travel with a child who needs to sleep, it is not the best choice - the rooms are very noisy, tehre are nights with loud music until mid-night, plus, you can hear the conversations in your neighbours's room and when they pull the old shutters
