“Beautiful location very quiet”

We stayed here in October, the location it's self is stunning, quite a drive off the beaten track. Well worth it for the seclusion and private facilities. The room is a little dated but the view out to the sea far out ways this. Not the friendliness of service we have encountered, when we asked to be moved we had to be insistent as we were told it was just the wind blowing in the wrong direction. The bar and cocktail area is very modern white and chrome, yet the main hotel has a more traditional feel. The food was very expensive with only a choice of a set menu, no bar menu or alternative so we had to travel back towards the town to eat which was dissapointing.
We would visit again for the private outside space, beautiful pool and swimming off the jetty into the sea. lots of sun beds and small private areas to feel you are secluded.

“September 2011”

The location is stunningly beautiful with it's own private beach, which is perfect if you like a rocks over sand. The people are very nice and willing to help. The food in the restaurant was excellent quality, but a little pricey. Breakfast was very good. The lobbies and general areas are well maintained. The only problem is the sea view room that we had was very 'tired'. It had a beautiful view but the windows wouldn't close, the toilet seat was loose, the wall mounted lamps were loose and the air conditioning was almost non-existent. We felt the quiet location, private beach, nice staff and stunning views made up for the problems in the room and would probably try it again.

“Over-priced and past it's best”

Stayed in October. Wonderful weather, clear blue skies, crystal clear water and balmy evenings. The hotel is a mix of interesting architectural features, all somewhat out of sync with each other. Lots of white and chrome. Bit isolated, tad expensive for what you get. 32 euros for the dinner menu, which looked good but for a family of four and wine, it's quite a lot. Like staying on a set for a 70's Bond film, including grotto!

“Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2011

If you want a taste of paradise you should do like my husband and I do every Summer since years back: spend a couple of weeks at El Faro! Far away from confusion, noise and stress,
instead you get a beautiful, stunnig part of mother nature when it shows up it´s very best!
A wonderful water to swim in where you manage to distinguise every type of sea-creature.
Great possiblities to relaxe on the deck prepared with sun-beds while whatching the sun go down. Rooms with a balcony are a must, you take the wonderful view with you and enjoy
the beatuy of the room preparing yourself for a fantastic dinner in the dining-room! The cooks have done there best to offer you all the tastes from the region, add to that a good wine from a wine-yard next by! The service is excellent, very helpful and pleasant personal who make evry effort to make you feel special. Closer like his to paradise you can not get!

“A beautiful setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2011 via mobile

Lovely hotel in a beautiful setting.

Positives:
- Amazing sea view, make sure you get a room with a sea view.
- we loved the 'beach' cut into the cliff face... Great if you are not a fan of sand
- very good customer service, friendly staff
- stylish terrace area, for drinks, also has free wifi access, which almost makes up for no Internet in the rooms

Negatives:
You need to have a car
I got stung by a jelly fish!
Dinner is too formal, but there is a great casual resaturant called Embarcador 2 mins down the road.
Rooms could be better, more 3 star than 4 star, but the sea view makes up for it.
