The exterior and lobby area of the Grand Hotel Delfino live up to its name. Once in the hotel area however, things change. This is a six story hotel with 200 rooms and two elevators which are also used for baggage transport. Elevators hold six people when packed like sardines - if the weight limit is not surpassed. Rooms were somewhat small, even by European standards. It was very difficult not to walk into luggage, a chair or table. This was the first hotel in Italy that I have stayed in that did not have even one English channel on the T.V. Half of the rooms face the Gulf of Taranto and half face the street. All have balconies but no chairs to sit upon. In my travel group there were inoperative bathroom facilities, cieling leaks, non working/broken appliances, and empty boxes supposedly holding complementary items in the bathroom. There is a lovely restaurant with outdoor patio overlooking the Gulf. The property also has a pool which appeared clean and inviting
