I liked this little place in Bari - and don't let the rough exterior fool you. It's more of a residence than a hotel or B&B (they didn't serve breakfast). It's centrally located and away from the rough Port area of Bari and is near to some decent shops and a nice bookshop that served pastries.

Zodiacus is not a luxury choice but its good for the money. Its clean, comfortable and warmly decorated. In terms of decor style, its like staying at your grandma's with occasional touches of IKEA.

We stayed in the mezzanine room - a high ceilinged (yet small floor space) room. It had a small lounge and bathroom downstairs and a high stair case to an upstairs bedroom deck. The bed was comfortable and the linen clean. The bathroom was also clean although a little stuck in the 70s.

If I ever had the need to stay in Bari again I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. For info this place is clearly convenient for the airport but you might prefer to stay in Trani if you're looking for a base to explore this part of Puglia.

I was travelling in Puglia and wanted a good hotel in town center of Bari, good for shopping and night life, but also near the station. I booked directly looking at other members advices. The Hotel is really lovely and the rooms are fantastic. The owners are really friendly. The price I payed was 70 euro for a double, a very good price for the service and room you get. The rooms are spacious (I had one with a mezzanine, very romantic), and very well furnished with antiques and wooden floor. Air Con works perfectly. Breakfast is proper Italian with Croissants and Cappuccino etc. at the bar near the hotel and it is served all day (the bar is open until 11pm) On a Sunday the breakfast is at a different bar 2 minutes walking distance. I would go back for the perfect location and the athmosphere of the Hotel.
Fantastic I will be back when in Bari.By the way Bari is perfect for the night life ...bars are open all night long. Go to eat at Le Credenze ..in old Bari ..it is lovely and inexpensive....good proper food.

This is a cute little hotel, well located near the pedestrian shopping area in Bari.

We stayed in a room with a high vaulted ceiling, which felt a little like a mini-suite, as the bed was on a mezzanine level. Some care and thought had gone into the decoration, using antiques and tasteful prints. There was a nice big mirrored wardrobe and a roll top desk, for example, also a TV downstairs and a flat screen one upstairs to watch in bed! The balcony was a bonus, as my partner smokes, and we could have a good look at the local life in the street below. There was no noise at nightime.

I feel churlish making any criticisms, but would have liked a bath as well as a shower, and the stairs to the sleeping area are open and quite steep, making it unsuitable for elderly people, or those with young children. It was more like a B & B also, as the manager left the premises after checking us in, and we had breakfast in the bar next door, which was basic, just coffee and croissant. The mini bar was poorly stocked, and one of the bottles had already been opened. Do please bear in mind that I am a perfectionist!

It was pleasant to stay in a place with a little character, instead of in a blandly decorated room in a chain hotel, and the price was reasonable.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience of staying at Hotel Zodiacus. It gave me a great thrill to be in a very Italian Hotel and location. Staff were very friendly and excellent hosts.
