Excellent hotel, friendly staff, great sized rooms. Small and slow lifts, but you can easily use the stairs. Would def stay in this hotel again, very central.

I am not unusually particular, but the first thing I noticed were the toenail clippings laying on the carpet at the side of the bed. The furnishings were used 30 years ago. Everything was worn out. The room we were in at the front of the hotel was noisy until 6 am. Not just a little noisy either. Screams, screeching tires and racing engines could be heard all night. You could not ignore the loud car stereos, as well as crowd roar from a night club right next door that spills out into the street. Everything was fine during the day. The next day we asked for another room, and they put us in the back of the hotel. It looks out into an enclosed courtyard. The noise was not as bad in the back, but the cigarette smoke got pretty strong. The heater in our room was uncontrollable and set to something around 80-farenheight. If it hadn't been for the overwhelming cigarrete smoke and the mosquito swarms we might have opened the window at night. I was just glad that the crowd roar was so much lower in the back of the building. Apparently the cigarette smokers outside the back of the night club can't scream as loud. The shower curtain was moldy / greasy on the lower 25 inches. They never changed the sheets for our 3 days in the room. The staff was friendly and professional. The food was good and the lobby was nice. The location was convenient to the train station, but not convenient to anything else in Bari. I would expect better for 120 euros a night. At least a clean shower curtain. We would have left after the 2nd night if we had had a convenient alternative, but we were having dificulty finding anything in the area. Bari is tough for hotels. The town has some tourist potential, but most of the hotels are not where a tourist would want them. The 'old town' and the waterfront were quite nice. I would look for a hotel closer to that than to the train station.

The lobby and dining room are impressive but the rooms, and we saw three, are not up to he same standard. The heating was uncomfortably warm and our room in the front of the hotel was noisy with the window open.

Breakfast, served in a pleasant dining room, was better than average.

The staff was competent and friendly and the rooms were generally clean however the old, stained carpets needed replacing and the shower curtain had seen better days. There was an old, peeling vinyl armchair in our room and others in the lobby, This was not what we expected for the120 Euros a night we paid in November.

The location is convenient to the train station and the center of town and at the right price you could find the Hotel Victor quite acceptable.

This is a nice hotel. The room was comfortable with nice ensuite facilities. The breakfast was excellent with a selection to suit all tastes. The main problem was the air conditioning. Coming from the UK, we felt very warm and uncomfortable, so we asked several times for the air conditioning to be put on. We were initially told that by law it could only be on at certain times, which isn't true. More excuses followed, including that it WAS on silently! Again, not true. We stayed for 7 nights in early October and it was uncomfortable. Another expense is the garage. This is 12 euros per night and as parking is at a premium in Bari, this service is required. On check out, I brought up the lack of air conditioning. The receptionist finally explained that the air conditioning is not put on after September, as it is COLD, for italians, yes! She simply shrugged when I said we found it warm. Overall, we had a nice stay and I would go back between May and September!
