We stayed in the Victor Hotel in September 2011 for one night room #202. The room was clean but the furniture is from the 70'ies and you see that nothing has been taken care of since then. The mattresses are the cheapest you can imagine and worn. Electrical appliences such as the sockets do not look safe. No internet/wifi in the room. The bathroom is minute, however toileteries are provided. Besides the king size bed there is little room to move. We paid for this €85.00. You are expected to leave the room by 10 a.m., upon request we were granted a "late" check-out at 12.
Breakfast included in the rate is very basic and sub standard.
The staff is quite austere and multilingual English/French.
According to photographs the upper floors have better looking room, but the cost €140 and taken all together you can get better rooms in Bari for such a high price.
The advantage of the Hotel is its location right in the center of the new town of Bari. The entire shopping district is around the corner, the old town and the seaside are within walking distance. If you come by car there is no chance to park in the street. since this is a residential area and the inhabitants occupy all parking slots. During the day you have to pay a fee of € 2/hr. Just opposite the hotel is a garage where you can park. With a slip from the hotel 24h will cost €20:00.
For one night this hotel is bearable. If you stay for longer in Bari and can afford it go somewhere else.
