I just returned from a week in Bari, my first visit to Bari and to Puglia. The Hotel Victor was recommended to me by a colleague on account of its proximity to the Universitas di Bari, where I was attending an international congress. The hotel is decent, quiet, clean, well-staffed, within easy walking distance of the central rail station and the beautiful Old City, and seaside attractions, excellent and inexpensive restaurants, and some of the rooms (qualified as "superior" by the hotel) are absolutely up-to-date. In the heat of summer, the rooms not in the superior category are very warm, but livable, and the breakfast is quite modest; no hot dishes are served, and there's no "real" juice....but otherwise the pastry and cereal offerings are just fine. Tip: ask the staff for cappucino or espresso made on the spot unless you want to settle for "cafe americano" which is not good. The staff are friendly and more than willing to be of help.

The hotel offers really nice rooms. Even if the room was not so spacious it was enough for two guys, the bedroom was renovated and air-condition worked good. We hadn't any experience neither with noisy neighbours nor with elevator (and our room was just next to it).Breakfast was everyday the same but with quite a big choice. Staff was friendly and helpful. The location is priceless, about 5min to Piazza Aldo Moro, train station, main bus station, street with shops. Supermarket is next door. We can recommend it!

Hotel VICTOR Bari certainly not what expectied ! The room was very outdated , and ..... Morning Surprise , NO HOT Water in the Bathroom .
Only positive the breakfast , nice room Good and proper food ( Cream filled croissants and exotic fruit )
Quoted 70 € for 1 night , they lower the price at 60 € after complaining for Hot Water .
NO PARKING . Extra 8 € .
Just not good value for money spent .

Note that I have also stayed at the Mercure Villa Romanazzi and only chose this hotel as it was a little closer to Bari Centrale station. They are both 4 star hotels, but the Mercure is the real deal. Now for the Hotel Victor. The rooms were very plain and ordinary looking, not alot of room in them. They desparately need refurbishment to be up to a decent standard. It was one of the noisiest areas as well, with a group of kids hanging around until very late the source of this noise. Breakfast was the only decent part of the hotel, with a typical good Italian breakfast.
