“Great Stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2010

This Hotel is classed 3star and it meets that standard, the room we had was ok everything worked and was clean, it was a bit tight size wise although the bed was huge. The view is poor being in the middle the city however from the 8th floor we could just about see the sea. Breakfast was included and very good with a fab selection of fresh ground coffee. Hotel staff all polite, friendly and very helpful (most could speak English).Location was excellent if if want to get around Bari and see the local sights it was a short to walk to the old town, port, beach or shopping areas. Buses are cheap and easy to use, the local train station is close by and again cheap and easy(Bus to and from the airport drops right outside the Hotel and costs less than 1 euro). All in all good value.

“No Frills”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 May 2010

We booked our hotel stay through www.booking.com and paid 95 euro a night. This seems slightly overpriced for the quality of the hotel and location.

The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk away from the train station, port, and sites. There's quite a few restaurants in the area and cafes, but for most of these if you want to eat dinner you're going to have to make a reservation (we found out the hard way).

The hotel didn't offer any suggestions on what to see or do while we were in town which was pretty disappointing. It would have been nice to at least have gotten a map of the area from them.

The rooms were comfortable. Not big by any means, but not as small as some of the other places we've been. The rooms are outdated, but very clean. The bathroom is uber tiny and the shower is one of the stand up corner ones where you constantly bump into the walls (we're pretty thin). We requested one bed as a married couple and were happy to have seen it when we got in the room. We slept pretty decent. The rooms were quiet and the windows blocked noise from outside. The only real problem we had with the room was that the A/C wasn't working when we went to bed one night so it was stuffy and hot, and the A/C overall feels weak so I can't imagine what it would be like to stay here in the middle of the summer.

Breakfast was okay, nothing special. It had some bread and jams, juice, water, cereal, fruit, and coffee/tea.

Overall, not a bad stay. I would have preferred something closer to the train station or for it to cost a little less for what we got but where we were was safe.

“3 star hotel - but could be mark ***** for staff and location”

The hotel is not modern (as many hotels in Italy) and from my first view I disliked it....but next day I understood, that yes - its old, with special smell BUT very clean, with good stuff and very good location for reasonable price (I was single and paid 75 euro per room - but room was with 2 beds and sofa).
Breakfast is simple...as usualy in italy, but OK - and staff also very polite.
In front of the hotel is very good supermarket with good and cheep Mozarella, Novello and olive oil.
And...I didnt know....but Bari is a shoping center of Italy - really, I have been in many italian cities BUT soo reasonable prices and amount of small great shops - i have never seen. Shopping was not a task of my trip, but I have seen all this shops with style goods.

“Average hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2009

I'm surprised this hotel got so many good reviews. It's overpriced for what it offers. First the pro's: The location is good, close to the shopping area and at walking distance from the historical center of town. The wireless is working perfectly and it is free of charge (very rare in Italy!). The breakfast was adequate. Now the con's: My room (a single) was small, but what really disappointed me was the bed against the wall (which I hate). I got a room on the front side of the hotel, and the street was noisy. The bathroom was tiny (and I'm a rather small person). The television was tiny as well. My room smelled of smoke. The air conditioning (for end of september ) was working properly, but I preferred to have the window opened, because of the stink.

“Average, no better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2009

I only stayed one night, but I was still a bit disappointed. Considering the price, I would hope for more. The room was small, the bathroom tiny (no room to turn round in the shower) and the air conditioning was inadequate for a hot summer night.

On the plus side, they let me check out an hour late (not such a big ask really) and it is well situated for the lively and interesting Bari nightlife, taking place nearby on C/so Vitt. Emanuele and the Centro Storico. The City is great, but I'm not sure this hotel is the place for a tourist visit....
