We booked our hotel stay through www.booking.com and paid 95 euro a night. This seems slightly overpriced for the quality of the hotel and location.
The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk away from the train station, port, and sites. There's quite a few restaurants in the area and cafes, but for most of these if you want to eat dinner you're going to have to make a reservation (we found out the hard way).
The hotel didn't offer any suggestions on what to see or do while we were in town which was pretty disappointing. It would have been nice to at least have gotten a map of the area from them.
The rooms were comfortable. Not big by any means, but not as small as some of the other places we've been. The rooms are outdated, but very clean. The bathroom is uber tiny and the shower is one of the stand up corner ones where you constantly bump into the walls (we're pretty thin). We requested one bed as a married couple and were happy to have seen it when we got in the room. We slept pretty decent. The rooms were quiet and the windows blocked noise from outside. The only real problem we had with the room was that the A/C wasn't working when we went to bed one night so it was stuffy and hot, and the A/C overall feels weak so I can't imagine what it would be like to stay here in the middle of the summer.
Breakfast was okay, nothing special. It had some bread and jams, juice, water, cereal, fruit, and coffee/tea.
Overall, not a bad stay. I would have preferred something closer to the train station or for it to cost a little less for what we got but where we were was safe.
