I stayed in Bari overnight on my way to Rome, after coming over from Croatia on the ferry. The hotel was fairly easy to find and in close proximity to the train station. My room and the (shared) bathroom were spotless and the staff very friendly despite the language barrier! This hotel was ideal was an overnight stop-over.

My wife wanted to look thru old records for links to her family in a nearby town so we stayed in Bari for two nights. The hotel was very good, with a nice breakfast in the morning, and close to the train station. The only issue we had was the street outside was very noisy and our room seemed to operate as an amplifier. We slept thru the night, but if you are a light sleeper you'll want a room that's not facing the street, as ours was.

We selected this hotel for it's proximity to the train station because we had an early morning departure, and were pleasantly surprised. It is an easy 5 minute walk from the train station on the second floor (with elevator) of a building it shares with two other hotels. Our room was large, with high ceilings and a balcony. The furnishings are rather spartan, but everything was spotless. The shower was large with an interesting vent. It was a small hole, high in the shower wall. The owners were very nice. The breakfast was standard (yogurt, breads, Italian pink juice and coffee). On the way to the train station is a nice deli where you can buy everything you need for lunch on a long train journey.
