“No hot water...and no one cared...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

I stayed at this hotel in December 2011. I wanted to take a bath. There was a beautiful bathtub. However, when I turned on the water it was hot for a few seconds then went cold. After that there was no hot water at all. I called the front desk. The clerk came to my room and tried the faucet. There was no hot water. Then we tried another room. The water was hot for a second or two then went cold. Meanwhile, during this entire process the clerk was insisting there was no problem at all with the hot water. Lukewarm water came out of the shower, and he stood there and claimed the water was hot. He did nothing to fix the problem. The next morning, when I complained about it to the front desk staff, they were completely rude to me. They insisted it was not "possible" their was no hot water in their "four star" hotel. In fact they became argumentative toward me in a completely unprofessional manner. It was ridiculous. Oh and my room service breakfast was cold by the time it was brought to me, including the capucccino. This hotel is not worth the money.

Room Tip: Run the hot water for several minutes in a room before checking in. My room had no hot water.

“Bold design, creative use of space, but very thin walls.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 June 2011

The Palladio enjoys a clever restoration, taking an ancient building and reworking the insides to look like a modern SoHo loft hotel. I saw two rooms -- neither had any view (unless you count a wall) as the hotel is wedged in the center of a city along narrow streets. The beds are very comfortable, the bathrooms small but well appointed, the large flat-screen television pivots so that it can be seen, and the wifi is strong and reliable. But the rooms are small! and have very little storage. I could hear every word of a soft conversation in the next room from my shower, and every note of the hip-hop music the other guest played late into the night. The service is crisp and efficient, the lobby is small, the bar functional only, and the breakfast pleasant. Best attribute is the location -- a few steps away from the charming restaurants, shops and squares of Vicenza. My advice is that hotel traditionalists might be disappointed with the overall Palladio experience, but those wanting something hip and fun will enjoy it.

“Quiet, comfortable, friendly hotel in great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 May 2010

A lovely quiet, comfortable hotel in a great location a few steps from the lively main square. Staff are friendly and provide very good service at good breakfast - fresh fruit salad, fresh yoghurt, croissants, rolls and delicious coffee. Our room was stylish but small with very limited storage. The "hot water" was at best warm - apparently an ecological decision by the hotel. Similarly the air conditioning and towel warmer were off for the season. Despite that, I'd recommend it.

“Love IT!!!”

I lived in the Hotel Palladio for two months and loved it. If you have more than one person traveling with you, try to get suite at the very top of the stairs. It has a private bath and two bedrooms. The Palladio is a warm and friendly place with great staff and fabulous location. Bellisimo!!!

“Really liked this super friendly hotel.”

We really enjoyed this very cute hotel. The rooms are clean and spacious. The location is extremely central, and the owner and his wife are more than hospitable. They invited us to eat at the restaurant of their son, and spoiled us with local food. It is located in a renovated building which lacks old world charm, but makes it up in location, cleanliness, comfort and super-friendliness. The breakfast is minimal and unmemorable. Although thanks to the great price per night in the hotel, one can make a 2 minute walk to the main square in town and enjoy breakfast at the Piazza dei Signori instead. Definitely a well recommended hotel.
