My excitement about staying @ a 4 star hotel ended at check-in. Never in all my years of travel (military, professional and personal) have I (our group) experienced such rudeness. The Room Manager's attitude continued throughout our 3 day stay. The final insult was the manner in which our group was addressed when informing the hotel of our need for early departure. In short, because we booked and paid for our rooms several months in advance, we could not cancel or modify. Ok, but why the arrogant and condescending attitude? When this unacceptable situation was addressed with the Boscolo corporate office, the response was pretty much - 'Sorry, but the room manager claims he was polite and cordial.' DO NOT book reservations with this hotel through their web site. Use a travel booking agency as they will be more accomodating to cancellations. A fancy tiled lobby with expensive flower arrangements DOES NOT qualify this hotel for 4 stars.

Rude staff, rooms were filthy. In the middle of the red light district as hookers were lining the street outside, which was quite an embarassment to me for my family. Advise staying clear of this Italian version of Motel 6.

Hotel has a great interior appearance. However, the group I was traveling with had problems with the staff manager. Our group originally planned to stay for 4 nights but on the second day we found out we had to leave a day earlier because of changes in our travel itinerary. Even though we gave 48 hours notice (only 24 hours was required) the hotel staff manager insisted that we had to pay for all four nights. Trying to negotiate with him proved to be unreasonable and unfortunately it appears some menbers of our group may need to take legal actions.

We also had problems getting the bed fixed in our room. We were supposed to have a large queen bed, but they gave my wife and I two twin beds. They told us they would reconfigure the beds into one, but it took a whole day for anyone to come and make the change--after we ask again. Nice, clean hotel--just needs some attention to customer service.

We arrived at the hotel all excited to be back in Vicenza Italy and from the time that we entered the lobby of the hotel we noticed that the staff was not very friendly. We checked in and went to the hotel room only to find that we had two single beds. I asked the manager if he could put the beds together and he told us no we would have to wait until the next morning when the staff arrived. We were okay with that and next day when we returned after being gone the whole day, the request was ignored. The manager than found someone to put the beds together, but he was not too happy that we bothered him again. Everything was a hassel at the Boscolo hotel from the food, the staff, the mean manager...it was terrible!!! We decided to check out early and so we contacted (--) to let them know....in keeping with the terms of our agreement, we stayed two nights and would not have to pay a penalty, well the hotel would not honor their own agreement...after many phone calls they finally honored their agreement...I do not recommend staying at this hotel because you will be very unhappy and it will sour your vacation.
