“Absolutely beautiful!”

At Domus Nova we stayed in the Residenzia which is the apartment and a little more expensive than the rooms but worth the extra. my son who I was travelling with said come on let's pay the extra and I'm so glad I did. Everything was just perfect, Verona is beautiful and Domus Nova is in a great location with huge windows overlooking the piazza Dei Signori, bedroom has a balcony with table, chairs and sun shade, large bathroom and dressing area, jacuzzi shower, beautiful antique furnishings, comfy bed all just perfect. I did not want to leave the apartment , just could have sat on the balcony people watching for 3 days! Our maid kept the apartment spotlessly clean and she was like an angel in the moorings coming in and preparing breakfast for us , so quiet , the only reason I knew she was there was the smell of fresh coffee. Giovanni the owner was gracious and helpful. Can only add that after travelling to many places over the years this was something very special - go to Verona it is a really lovely surprise and stay at Domus Nova.

“right expectations = a very nice experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 June 2010

Good choice for those looking for a moderately priced option in Verona. We had 2 of the 3 rooms (Regina Adelaide and Romeo e Giullietta) of this B&B for a 5 night stay. Conveniently located for shopping and restaurants and well situated for exploring Verona and nearby cities like Vicenza and Bologna, reached in under an hour by train (about a 15 minute walk to the train station / 5 minutes by taxi).

Charming hosts Giovanni and Anna live outside Verona but Giovanni was always around for breakfast and for awhile during the day. He helped us select restaurants and to order taxis if we planned ahead. We never found ourselves wanting for their presence, except maybe on Wednesday night when the entertainment in the piazza below lasted well beyond midnight. It was loud, and the only thing I didn't find charming. Other nights were quieter, but keep in mind there are 2 restaurants in the piazza below - neither of which I can recommend.

Breakfast consists of fresh fruits, yogurt and delicious breads and pastries, self service coffee - scaled down from what we are used to in Italy, but certainly adequate especially considering the size of the B&B.

Emails were generally answered in 3 - 5 days.

Also, I was celebrating a special birthday. Giovanni and Anna gave me a beautiful bottle of Amarone (regional red wine) and it was honestly the best red I tasted during my 2 week stay in Italia! While the other 3 hotels knew it was a special occasion, Domus Nova was the only one that recognized it. It really meant a lot to me.

“Perfection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 August 2009

We normally stay in upmarket hotels but thought this time to try a B and B as we would be there for a week. This place was perfection. Giovanni is a kind and helpful host. We had the Queen Adelaide room which had a large and airy bathroom. We also had the use of the living area as well as the kitchen and its contents.
The breakfasts were healthy and generous and our room was kept immaculate.
Cannot speak too highly of this beautiful homely haven.

“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2009

We loved the historical feel of Verona. The Domus Nova is in a great location in a pedestrian only piazza, next to the Piazza Erbe where there is a daily market and restaurants. The wonderful restaurant Osteria al Duca is only a block away and there are good places to eat and drink in the square below the B&B as well. We rented all three rooms of the Domus Nova and found them to be charming and the bathrooms modern and functional. We did have problems contacting the owners to get into the rooms and again when the electricity went out. We were without electricity for an extended period of time, which meant no A/C and the rooms got very hot. The A/C is not very robust anyway. The owners were also late when we were checking out, which was a bit irritating as we had a train to catch. There were concerts in the square below our rooms both of the two nights that we were there. They were both charming and pleasant and didn't end too late.

“Not a better place to experience Verona!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 July 2009

The Domus Nova is located in the heart of Verona and it is magnificent. What a special place. We had an apt. with a balcony, complete kitchen and living room, bedroom, bath with jacuzzzi shower and could experience the heartbeat of Verona. Situated right by the Lively Piazza Erbe and looking on to the beautiful Piazza Signorini..you couldn't ask for a more perfect location. The restaurant downstairs has great food, lots of ice and a great personality named Nicola who poured us free champagne for our anniversary and handed us the best pizza of our life to take upstairs the night we arrived after a 30 hr journey. The Wednesday night drums are a fantastic experience...You don't go on vacation to not enjoy the culture! I felt lucky that we had a fantastic dance show to view from our balcony. It was a highlight. all the major sights, and there are too many for only 5 days, are within walking distance. The city is surrounded by a beautiful river, there is major shopping down the street, The Opera in the Roman arena is not to be missed...what wonderful memories. Giovanni made sure we had whatever we needed, including liters of diet coke in the frig. Thank you Roberti family. Our breakfast was on the table in the morning and the room came with a maid...Clean, beautiful, Romantic and just the best. No extra charges for anything..even the diet coke! Go to Verona, stay at the Domus Nova and make a lifetime memory you will not forget. Also, the air conditioning to come back to after a warm day of sightseeing was awesome! Don't take a car, it is entirely unnecessary. The bus from the train station drops you at Piazza Erbe, 2 minutes from the door of thisbeautiful ancient Villa.
