“Be aware of construction noise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

A Wing of the hotel is currently (as of 2 February 2012) undergoing renovation, with the corresponding construction noise. The workmen get started at 7:30 am, so if you're planning on sleeping later than that, be sure to ask for a room as far away from the construction as possible. Perhaps those are the "superior" rooms the desk clerk tried to up sell us to for an additional 30 euro pr night....

Aside from the noise (and lack of notification of us regarding the noise) the hotel is great. Friendly, competent staff (esp Elisa at the front desk and the breakfast staff.) Wonderful linens and great housekeeping.

“Lovely hotel RIGHT in the centre of Verona”

My family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teenage daughters) stayed here for 4 nights and could not have picked a better hotel and position. We also had a rental car and navigated the cobblestone streets with no problems and the hotel also parked it for us in their garage for a small fee. All the staff were wonderful and also gave us great suggestions for restaurants. Our room was a quad, right at the back on the ground floor. It wasn't large but enough space for 4 adults as we were only in there to sleep. The single bed had a trundle bed underneath which folded out which my 15 year old daughter said was quite comfortable. Beautiful large bathroom also. Even though the room was just behind the breakfast room it wasn't too noisy, just depended on the guests that were in there on any particular morning. We also took the train to Venice for a day and it only took 15mins to walk to the train station. Overall it was a fantastic hotel on one of the streets off the arena and in the centre of everything.

“Nice hotel in the center of Verona”

Unfortunately we were only able to spend one night at Giulietta e Romeo but it was a good stay in an airy room with a view of the ancient Roman arena over the roof tops. Breakfast was a tasty and varied spread and the hospitality was first-rate. Elisa at the front desk was especially helpful in getting us a reservation at Trattoria al Pompiere after we'd been turned away at the restaurant's door. I'd be happy to stay here again and would recommend it highly to anyone visiting Verona.

“A balcony at the Giulietta e Romeo Hotel and so much more”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

This is a great little hotel right in the heart of romantic Verona. As the taxi was driving us there from the train station, we passed a huge pink marble coliseum. What is that? Oh, that was just the Roman Arena from 1 A.D....that was right up the street from us. The staff was very friendly and the rooms very clean. We had a "suite" which was just slightly larger but lovely - the balcony alone was worth the upgrade. It's on a quiet street despite being so centrally located. Nice complimentary breakfast as well. The beds are on the hard side, but that seems to be the case in most places we stayed in Italy. Definitely recommended!

“Visit to Verona”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

We had an excellent experience with this hotel ranging from the clean and good-sized room to the helpful, kind but “not intrusive” personnel. Its location is also a great plus, the hotel is very close to the Arena and in the middle of the historical downtown. It proved to be a good base to visit the old town as well as the surrounding hills and vineyards.
