We arrived in Verona unexpected, after skiing several days in Austria. After checking in with the tourist office, we walked to a few places, and really liked the vibe from the Verona. At 99 euros, the price was good, and at 15 euros to park, not bad. Not sure why others are b%^$&ing about parking rates, since it'll set you back $35-45 a night to park at a decent city hotel anywhere in the states.
The person at the front desk was terrific (woman, I'm afraid we didn't get her name). As we only had one night ,she advised us not to go into all the tourist sites, and instead to walk around town. Good advice, as we found a nice osteria for a glass of amerone. And she recommended the Ristorante Greppia, with the caveat that tourists had discovered it, but it was still a good place to eat. Actually, the Greppia turned out to be the better than any place we ate in Venice (see separate review on that).
The room at the Verona is small, but that's typical of Europe. Nice bathroom. The breakfast was terrific and the guy (at least this morning) in charge made a wonderful cappucino.
