“Don't go for the food!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2011

We booked here on the recommendation of Booking.com, since our first choice replied right away to let us know that their kitchen was closed for the month of July! Has to be Italy! Where else would they close their kitchen during the busiest month of the year?
We went by car to Verona, which was the primary reason for wanting a hotel with parking. We had no difficulty driving in to town during our stay. We also did a day trip on the Saturday to Venice. That was about an hour away I would say. All in all a fine location.
The only thing though was, after eating in the restaurant the first night (we were in Verona from Thursday until Monday morning) we decided we'd never do that again. The "waitress" really had very little idea what she was doing, and completely forgot the bulk of my meal. There's only a choice of two beers (huh?) and the wine was pitiful. Overall we began to think that the Italians must export all their decent wine, because we didn't have any in Verona that was any good at all, but that's another story.
The room was fine, the price was fine, just don't plan to eat anything other than breakfast there. Breakfast was pretty average too, but I'm not a big breakfast fan, so all I really need is a couple cups of coffee and some toast, so my needs were met.
My perception was, that it was definitely family run, since there was one matronly individual who was there day and night, who was the only pleasant staff person there, (possibly the Mama) but spoke not a word of English. The Italians in general don't do well in that department, which is a shame, since they are a part of the EU after all, and English has become the common language between all the countries of the EU. Not so much for the Italians it seems.
The "bar tender" and Friday night desk clerk (possibly a son) was a complete and utter horses hind end. Thankfully he only worked the one night. I though I might try their wifi, and my first clue should have been when he was berating one of the fellow hotel guests, as the poor chap was having difficulties logging on. Who needs that grief?
Here's the thing: When you get to about middle age, and start to have a couple Euros in your pocket so that you can travel and support these "ingratiati", the other thing that simultaneously happens is that your eyesight tends to weaken. This is the time when you might need some help from the front desk deciphering the silly log-in nonsense. Yelling at the customers isn't going to help them.
Since I am one of those middle aged guys, I've learned over the years that tossing some young snot over the counter onto his pointy little head is ultimately only going to upset my wife, and give the cops something to do, so I did manage to contain myself. No need to yell at people. I did point out however that, we were not likely to ever return. (along with a couple poignant remarks about their Prime Minister, their economy. Things they can really be "proud" of?)
So, make sure you plan on eating in town. Other than that, your mileage may vary. Can't say I recommend the wi-fi, so if you need to do any business, forget it. "Free" usually means "slower than cold molasses running uphill backwards".
Good luck.
But yes, if you're saddled with a car, but all means, give it a try.

Room Tip: bring your own chairs if you get a room with a small balcony. There are none out there.

“Wonderful Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 September 2011

the hotel is really superb, though it is situated outside of the town. But i think its totally worth it. I payed 45 Euro for one night and it was peak season. you can take the bus 13 or 98, which bring you in 20 minutes into the old town. And it is very quiet. The hotel equipment was on a very modern standard, and it is very clean. The staff assist you through every kind of request you have. Again, this hotel i would recommend to every one.

“Excellent value, especially with a car”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 April 2011 via mobile

We stayed at the hotel during a one night stay in Verona. We were surprised how great it was considering the price. The facilities in the room were brand new, we had a cute porch with a view of vineyards and horse and tue breakfast was satisfactory (albeit nothing to write home about).
The one drawback is the location. We didn't have a car and the hotel is a few kilometers from the center. There is a bus stop right outside, but the bus comes only once every half hour or so (less at night) and in Italy you can't know when it will actually arrive. Due to traffic the ride into town is over twenty minutes. With a car, this drawback is non existent, and this hotel is highly recommended and great value at 65 euros for a double room with breakfast.

“Strategic location for those who have rented cars, to explore veneto”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2010

Hotel has a good price, very good service, a nice breakfast included, free wi-fi internet, and no charges for parking. It's more or less 5 minutes from downtown Verona. It's a good option for those who wants to visit Venezia without soend the night ther.. Hotel is more or less 50 minutes by car to Venezia.
