“If I'd read some of the reviews I wouldn't have stayed there, but...”

We booked this hotel for 1 night via a 'secret hotel' deal on lastminute. First and foremost it has the feel of a smart business hotel. But having said that it was good value, and our double room was large, modern (except for the TV) and clean. Its not in the centre of Verona but its only 10 mins by bus or taxi. It has its own large car park which was important to us as we arrived by car. We paid extra (11 euros per day) to use the secure underground car park. Contrary to some reviews I've read, the breakfast was very good. The girl on reception when we first arrived was a little on the frosty side and didn't let on that they have free city centre maps available when I asked about catching a bus into the centre (which was a doddle as the bus stop is just outside the hotel). But other staff we encountered were more friendly. Overall, we were quite happy with the hotel. Its not a place to choose if you're looking for a lovelly charming romantic hotel. But if your main priority is somewhere to stay of a good standard to use as a base then this will fit the bill.

“What a joke - a clean joke but still ridiculous !”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 May 2010

Having stayed before I knew the position was good for a local exhibition but the recent refurb is a total joke
- the doors don't lock without persistant slamming so no sleep or lie in bed
the floor is wood so when next door drops anything the whole landing knows about it
the beds are on wheels so don't try to lean against the headboard
the tv is s
mall and old with no English tuned channels so no use at all
the wardrobe is too small and the clothes hang face on so you can't choose what to wear without taking everything back out
the layout us all wrong so no view from the bed (the 2 single beds rolled together - but not for long thanks to wheels and wood floor
Breakfast in the room was stale bread
Wifi doesn't work in the room even though they said it would but they also said there was nothing wrong with the doors but slamming all along the corridor says otherwise
A joke - But Verona is one of the most amazing places ever - just stay somewhere else !!

“recommended for business - close to Fiera Verona”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 May 2009

It is like 7 min walk from the Fiera Verona. So you avoid croudy mornings in the car. It was most important to me.
The breakefast was pretty good.
For supper we always took a car to go to the city center.

“Cleanest Hotel Ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2007

This hotel must have been newly renovated because everything is sparkling new. It is decorated in a minimalist style (Danish modern/Ikea).

However, it was not very close to the heart of Verona which might be more fun for tourists. The hotel is good for business and for people just coming for the opera festival and nothing more.

“A Two Star Hotel WIith NO Star Service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2006

This is not a four star hotel. The rooms are nice but basic. The service is appalling. The rooms were sometimes not made up, and sometimes the bed linen was not changed. Some of the staff are rude, and all are disinterested and regard the guests as an interruption to their paperwork. If you arrive after 10.30 p.m. you cannot get a cup of coffee or a sandwich - "Finito" !!! And you are in the middle of nowhere with nowhere to go. No coffee facility in rooms. Several guests ordered morning calls, but he only call anyone received was an hour after the booked time. You can get a bus to the centre, but the return buses stop early, so you need a taxi. The morning breakfasts are tasteless standard buffet food. No staff are available if required. Only one of the reception staff spoke anything like fluent English. No assistance in bringing luggage down from the rooms. The star rating of this hotel needs downgrading fast. We stayed there from 10 to 17 October; Verona is a lovely city, but we seem to have chosen the wrong hotel. If there are staffing problems out of high season, it would be nice if someone could say "sorry" occasionally, but it was hard to think that anyone cared.

  • Liked — Leaving it.
  • Disliked — No coffee-making facilities in rooms.
  • Tips/Secrets — Learn Italian and hire a car.
