We stayed here over the Easter break for 4 days and used this as our base when travelling to both Bologna and Verona. The hotel was a 20 to30 minute walk to the centre of town so not the most ideal location, also there were no restaurants in the area that we were aware of. On a positive note, there was a local supermarket right next door, where you were able to buy nibbles at a reasonable price. We did not feel safe walking to and from the hotel and relied on cabs. In hindsight, I think I would have preferred to have spent a little extra money on a hotel closer to centre of town. I found the staff to be ok but they were not very helpful - I think the hotel caters for large tour groups as opposed to couples/smaller parties. The hotel rooms were an average size and were clean - . I was surprised to hear that they are considered to be a 4 star hotel, more like 3 star in my opinion. Verona itself was a really beautiful city and well worth a visit.

Where should I start? Very unfriendly service from all 4 staff we encountered at reception. Reception smells like month old fried food all the time. Staff can't be bothered to help guests at all with advice like how to buy bus tickets, which buses are useful etc. I guess they assume everyone takes taxis or drives a car? Breakfast ok but staff look at you like you are a piece of mud on their shoe when you ask for anything. I love Verona but felt depressed at the thought of coming back here to sleep at night after having spent the day in the city itself where people smile and the sun shines. Just don't bother going there. There are far better hotels in Verona with nicer staff and surroundings.

We booked this hotel for 1 night via a 'secret hotel' deal on lastminute. First and foremost it has the feel of a smart business hotel. But having said that it was good value, and our double room was large, modern (except for the TV) and clean. Its not in the centre of Verona but its only 10 mins by bus or taxi. It has its own large car park which was important to us as we arrived by car. We paid extra (11 euros per day) to use the secure underground car park. Contrary to some reviews I've read, the breakfast was very good. The girl on reception when we first arrived was a little on the frosty side and didn't let on that they have free city centre maps available when I asked about catching a bus into the centre (which was a doddle as the bus stop is just outside the hotel). But other staff we encountered were more friendly. Overall, we were quite happy with the hotel. Its not a place to choose if you're looking for a lovelly charming romantic hotel. But if your main priority is somewhere to stay of a good standard to use as a base then this will fit the bill.

Having stayed before I knew the position was good for a local exhibition but the recent refurb is a total joke
- the doors don't lock without persistant slamming so no sleep or lie in bed
the floor is wood so when next door drops anything the whole landing knows about it
the beds are on wheels so don't try to lean against the headboard
the tv is s
mall and old with no English tuned channels so no use at all
the wardrobe is too small and the clothes hang face on so you can't choose what to wear without taking everything back out
the layout us all wrong so no view from the bed (the 2 single beds rolled together - but not for long thanks to wheels and wood floor
Breakfast in the room was stale bread
Wifi doesn't work in the room even though they said it would but they also said there was nothing wrong with the doors but slamming all along the corridor says otherwise
A joke - But Verona is one of the most amazing places ever - just stay somewhere else !!
