Stopping off in Verona for a couple days on our way to Venice, we looked and argued and ran out of time, so we just booked the Holiday Inn. After the somewhat bad reviews on this site, I was a bit worried, but I have to say, It was a Holiday Inn.

The staff was friendly and helpful on arrival. The elevators were small, only one person with luggage at a time. But the room was small, but clean and comfortable, and for the price that is all I expect. The bathroom was almost new, and modern, and very very clean. One of my demands.

The location was great, about 7km to the center of Verona, were we saw the arena and walked to see Juliet's balcony.

For the price was what I would expect. and was perfectly located. If we ever return to Verona, will most likely stay again.

This is a property which it offers some of the cheapest rooms in town and is about 5km from the centre so we didn't have high expectations and we got what we expected. It's a big property that needs some investment and perhaps more loving care than it is currently getting. Located out of town behind a petrol station is never going to be a top pick for the hotel room but for the right price it's acceptable for a night or maybe two. If you're planning a "Romeo and Juliette" themed romantic trip to Verona, then this is NOT the hotel for you. If your budget directs you towards this property try to book a package which includes breakfast or just grab a coffee at the bar as adding the breakfast buffet as an extra is not good value. We stayed at the weekend and if we hadn't had our own transport to/from the fabulous centre of Veroona I think we could have become very down beat about this place - as it was we slept and left without worrying too much.

This is without a shadow of a doubt the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Only stay here if you are desperate. I would rather sleep in my car.... The hotel is as other reviewers have said vvvvv tatty. It is dirty, the rooms have filthy carpet on the walls. The main staircase is a major safety hazard there was NO LIGHTING at all on the stairs, pitch black all night, the switches did not work. How can you have no lighting on stairways? The bathroom was mouldy, the bedroom had a hole in the ceiling where I presume water had leaked through. No tea and coffee facilities as advertised. It was so horrible please don't stay there. I would hate to think anyone wasted their hard earned money on this dive.

Holiday inn Verona is a good hotel according to the price. not so far from the city center, about 10-15 minutes by cab. it costs us aprox 15 EUR one way. THe hotel itself is nice, clean, rooms are small but nice, the staff ar the front desk not very friendly. the breakfast is quite expensive, but there is a shop near to the hotel.
