“stay away”

The room was reasonable, and since we are in Venice, I understand some things. however the bathroom was equipped with a pump to suck water, it broke down twice and sewage discharged into the ground at that time called the receptionist, who gave a look and told us that now was well and nothing more. we are looking at one another, since not even deigned to bring a mop to clean and the smell was becoming unbearable, yet we insist and after, a second employee there deigned to clean, but the smell was impregnated.
every time we were using the toilet or shower, the noise of the pump was intolerable and night, you could wake up half of venice.
the air conditioner instead of being controlled by us, was controlled by the reception, needless to say, that in most of the time was off.
The towels looked more like a piece of bed sheet, towels than in reality.
found several containers of shampoo bath already used, which gave the idea that if they were not removed, the bathroom was not cleaned properly.
breakfast, it was still the best part, well enough despite the fact that the dose to meet completely borderless limited to repetitions.
The receptionist was not friendly or nice, and was extremely difficult to communicate with him, since he spoke English poorly.
Thanks that spend most of the time out to know Venice, and only used the hotel to sleep.
Finally, it remains to say that I paid € 90 per night, when merited at most a mere 30 €, and that the name Hotel is perfectly wrong, since there are Hostels, if not most, quite superior.
If he returned to Venice, he was right, that never again would be that hotel, preferring to stay in the mainland and take the train in the morning and then enjoy 48 hours of the ticket we buy.

“The worst hotel experience”

I stayed at this hotel with a friend's recommendation who stayed there three years ago. Since my friend's good recommendation was enough encouraging, we were so exited to have a nice vacation in the most beautiful city in the world, but it turned out to be exactly the opposite.
We arrived in Venice around early afternoon and after calling the hotel from the train station, the receptionist wasn't able to explain us how to arrive to the hotel, neither in english nor in italian. While we arrived by our own map, we had to knock the door for more than 30 minutes, because it was locked from inside. Since we were quite enthusiastic about the whole trip, we didn't take it that much seriously. but the problem started when we found out that the room was unacceptable: two beds with shared bathroom in the corridor, instead of a double bed ensuite... It was so disappointing, because there wasn't any chance to comunicate with the receptionist about the room problem, even it wasn't the poor indian guy's fault, because this wrong accomodation was done by the responsible, who wasn't even replying to our calls when we demanded an explanation. Anyway, it's been a very bad experience and I definitely don't recommend to anyone.

“i'll never come back to this hotel”

Situated in a secluded and dimly lit street at night is scary.
The first day gave us a small room that only had two beds, a broken television and a tap with two towels. The bathroom was shared with other hotel guests. One day when we returned from sightseeing, our room had been changed by an even smaller room. They had taken our things without asking. In the new room had only one bed and a folding bed that looked like a child's bed because it was very small. We slept very badly. They did not give us any explanation, and only we were told that the hotel manager never came to the hotel and we could not talk to him.
Rooms mediocre and not very clean, had some insect and the window did not close well.
Every day had the same breakfast, better go to breakfast at a cafe in the city.

“Shabby, worn hotel - but clean sheets and bathroom.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 June 2009

I had an unexpected trip to Venice, so did not do any planning, and had one night without a room. Fava had space, but coming up to it at night was scary- a very dark alley, an abandoned square, but quite close to Rialto bridge (so the feeling of 'too' quiet). The room itself was really minimal but clean, and the night went without noise or incident. Breakfast was adequate, and there were pleasant people at other tables. I couldn't help but think a bit of investment could make this place a goldmine...

“Expensive small room with no view”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2007

We spent a month in Europe and found this room to be the most expensive, at $250 US per night. It had the worst view that we had experienced anywhere, we looked at the next building's drain pipe, 3ft away. The room was small and had no appeal at all, it didn't even have a picture on the wall. The floor was parquet flooring that had lifted, so it cracked, creeked and moved with every step we took. We had footwear on all the time. I booked it on-line for 3 nights, so I only have myself to blame. After initially viewing the room I requested another room. Even though we were staying here for 3 nights, my request fell on deaf ears.

In the price of the hotel room a continental breakfast was served which was ok. The room also came with a safety deposit box which is always a plus.

We picked and stayed as this hotel because of the location. The hotel is located between the Rialto Bridge and San Marco. All the sites we wished to see were very close and there were plenty of good restaurants in the immediate area. Location wise it was a very good choice.

After touring around Venice for 3 days we found that their water bus service to be very good and and getting around was really quite easy. We found San Polo to be very nice and charming, we would look at staying in this area if we came to Venice again.

  • Liked — Location
  • Disliked — Too expensive for what the hotel offered, which was nothing.
