“great hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2011

My friend and I stayed at this hotel, quite by chance. It was not our first preference but the hotel we booked in "over booked" ( a regular hazard, so I have heard) and refered us to this little hotel. After checking out their website we confirmed and even though we were a bit nervous about it, we were looking forward to our visit to Venice.
Let me tell you, do NOT google directions to get to this hotel.. you will never find it. Its a bit complicated to get to it. At least to us it was. When we finally got there, the room was ready, the gentleman who met us was most helpful and welcoming .. BUT, there is always a but.. the room was most unsatisfactory. The room did not over look the canal, Unless you leaned over the balcony and looked. And it was small and the floors appeared to be sticky. The air conditioner was not working and was actually heating the room!! After a few calls to the original hotel which suggested this to us and not getting much help we were very upset.
We managed to get some help from 2 wonderful ladies who were staying on the same floor as us. They suggested that since they were checking out the next day why dont we ask to move into their room., which we did.
The management was really nice. They couldnt understand why we did not want a room with a (tiny) balcony but they did very quickly and efficiently cleaned the other room, moved our stuff and the rest of our stay was wonderful. The room was enormous, looked like it was supposed to from the website and it overlooked the canal.
I would certainly recommend this hotel. The little Piazza had the nicest restaurants which we would certainly recommend also.

“An excellent B&B in a great location”

This was an excellent B&B in a great location a little off the beaten path but easily within walking distance of the Rialto and San Marco. The hosts were very accommodating and the breakfast was enough to keep us going to dinner time. It was very clean and our room was very spacious with a balcony view of the canals. Many restaurants to choose from within a few block radius.

“Some confusion...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 June 2011

We booked a deluxe room with balcony and canal view. We were given a room which looked into someone's bathroom. On complaint, we were told the balcony rooms were taken and that as we booked three months in advance the booking system had changed and now all rooms with ensuite bathrooms were 'deluxe'.

We were changed rooms on the second night (after being hurried out of our first room as they needed to clean it). We were also given a small discount.

The stuff up is a shame as it's actually a very nice guest house and represents excellent value in a very expensive city.

The rooms are very nicely decorated and breakfast in the room
is a good inclusion.

We would have given full marks had we have got what we booked.

“Magic weekend”

I went with my wife to this Residence and we enjoy very much. Room was big enough with a pretty table where we had "slow"breakfast with cappuccino. But the best of the place was the balcony with views to a little canal, street and square (all in one sight). Only one negative aspect for those who don't sleep well: sunlight come from outside very early. Anyway, very recommendable.

we found this B&B was in our favorite part of town. Near a square. Spend the extra bucks for the balcony room. Very friendly host.
