We spent 2 wonderful nights at the Gondola apartment in Residenza Grandi Vedute. It was perfect in every way !! The beautiful apartment was huge for 2 of us, with a separated bedroom, living room and kitchen. And at a price that was less than almost every B&B in venice itself. The kitchen had everything we needed and was filled with complimentary breakfast foods each day. We had 3 beautiful windows that could be opened wide to overlook Venice across the water. The apartment is in an very beautifully restored old building. Location is quiet, romantic. A stroll along the Guidecca waterfront at any time was lovely. Free shuttle service is now provided to / from St. Mark square (pleasant 15 min. boat trip along the Venice waterfront) and to / from the plaza directly across from the apartments (5 min. boat ride) a couple of times each hour. After long days in crowded Venice, it was great to be able to retreat to a quiet apartment and open the windows wide to a beautiful view just across the water. Would DEFINITELY go back again.

We have just spent 4 nights in the Carolina apartment for our 10th wedding aniversary and have had a thoroghly fantastic time,
the service is perfect adn the apartments are beautiful. Would recomend theses over a Venice Hotel Room ay day.

We stayed 3 nights at the Residenza Grandi Vedute in the Carolina apartment (top of the Molino Stuckey building) which has two lovely arched windows with a round feature window above.
The Molino Stuckey is situated near the end of Guidecca Island, a peaceful place away from the hordes of tourists on Venice.
A basic breakfast pack is provided daily which we complemented with fresh rolls and croissants from the local bakery a couple of minutes away. There are several excellent trattorias/restaurants within walking distance of the Residenza.
We had a day of torrential rain, that even our wet weather gear could not cope with, so we spent our time watching the canal traffic, finishing off our breakfast goodies as a light lunch. Much more fun than being cramped in a small hotel room!
Daniel, who runs the apartments, is extremely helpful and will sort out any queries that might be had.
The vaporetta stop is about a 4 minute walk from the Residenza and there is a water taxi stop right outside.

The absolute alternative to any (cramped) Venice hotel room: the serviced appartments in the old flour mill 'Molino Stucky'. A quiet spot at the end of the Fondamenta Giudecca with sweeping views of the large canal with the Campanile of San Marco in the background. Well appointed, large, spotless, modern and stylish. I traveled with 2 teenage kids, who loved sleeping in the mezzanine with the big round window. Breakfast provided is of excellent quality if a bit sparse; we used to buy bread the night before to make it more substantial. We hope the apartments will keep their excellent value for money relation even after the opening of the Venice Hilton in the adjacent wing of the old mill - and would return there immediately.
