“Not luxury, but acceptable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

The convenient location is in the heart of Venice, behind the San Marco, nearby there are many restaurants and shops, close waterbus station, staff English speaking, friendly, good continental breakfast. The main contingent of europeans. Street in the evening time quiet and calm, isolated rooms, inside bathroom and toilet and all amenities. The price for such a hotel was acceptable. But it is difficult to find the hotel, if you have no maps.

“Location is the only good thing going for this hotel....”

Upon arrival the reception was very rude. Reservations were made online for a double bed room. The simple misunderstanding that there would be 2pax not one pax staying was received as if it was the biggest problem of the year. An additional cost was added for the additonal person, fine. Later, we found out that they charged double the "city tax" compared other hotels.
The room, long story short- hairs on the headboard, pillows smelt of mildew, carpet at least 10 years old, and wouldn't dare shower in the bathroom.
We immediately left the room after checking in to explore Venice. After having dinner we arrived again, greeted by another rude receptionist as if we were inconveniencing him to buzz us in a 10 pm (curfew 12- or you will be locked out, we were warned).
Breakfast was not fresh, mostly packaged food and a push button coffee machine to make latte etc. as found in 7-11. Needless to say we checked out the next morning, found no need to unpack in this unfriendly and dirty hotel. My mother had stayed years ago with great reviews, looks like management stopped caring not long after.

We are sorry to read the issues you had on your recent stay in our Hotel.
Firstly , our staff would like to apologize for the rudeness, it's obvious that maybe there were some misunderstanding , because we never left people out at night or alone , and sometimes people may sign us as rude when we are simply pretty busy.
Secondly , we'd like to say something in our defense.
2 people instead of 1 is not the "biggest problem of the world" , but it's hard to solve when the
Hotel is totally complete , when there are no rooms to assign in addition and when the establishment is expecting 1 person. As a well known Hotel , we don't like to reject reservations, nor to send additional people away , as we always try to find a solution to satisfy everyone.
An additional bed has been assigned to you at a very low extra , the situation was a bit difficult , but we managed to find a way to accomodate you.
We read the problems you had in the room , we are trying to figure why you didn't report them to our staff or the maids. They all would have been pleased to clean or solve up all the discomforts you had accessing the room.
The city tax rate is not fixed , it may change depending on many points ( age , season periods etc.), and the most considerable is the Hotel category. .....as higher is the number of stars ,as higher is the price. It's possible that you noticed a lower category Hotel tax list, so you thought we overcharged you , believe us ...we didn't !!!( we would indeed have been pleased to explain the whole thing to you in front of your disappointment ).
Our Breakfast Buffet may be basic , but you should consider that on Budget Hotels , especially in Venice , you hardly find an open "all you can eat" buffet with all the choices of food and drinks we have, not to mention the coffee and drinks machines.
We are really sorry for not being able to get a positive feed this time , but we'd like to tell you that we undoubtly care a lot about our customers , and are pleased to help every guest assisting him on their needs and requests. Our reply to your statement is the evidence of it.

“Actually not bad!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

We had a double private room as it was reserved.
After reading some of the reviews here I was a bit concerned about the cleanliness and the bed bugs but I was actually positively surprised after the check-in.
Fortunately We had a good experience. Not bed bugs at all.
The room was clean enough and also the bed sheet.
We had just a little problem with the TV, so the very helpful staff came to help us at night. After a while we realized that the cable was not attached to the wall.
After all I was happy. Not bad at all for one night. Good price and very good location.

“Simply Horrible!!!!”

For me and my husband it was the first Europe visit. Venice was too good but the price that we paid for this dingy accomodation was exhorbitant. A small room with a bed gave hardly any place to stand, bathroom was sticking and the staff very unfriendly. The final straw in hat was when we saw the breakfast......cereals, jam, milk and bread!!!!! The pictures shown on net are very misleading!

Dear Amrita C,

We are really sorry to read you didn't enjoy your stay in our Hotel.
We would like to ask you why you didn't show any regrets or complains at our reception during your stay.
We surely would be pleased to change your accomodation in a new room.
Anyway, we did check the WC of your room and it was not absolutely sticking.
Staff was not unfriendly at all , besides we asked you if you needed some help and if everything
was ok.
As about breakfast ,it is a continental ( not english ) we may say that hardly in Venice you can find an open "all you can eat" buffet on breakfast. "English" food is not common on 2 stars hotels, it usually starts from 3 to 5.

“As good as in pictures”

We have spent 2 night there and it was really pleasant. The hotel looks like the same as it shown on the pictures, maybe the guy at the reception isn't same. We won this two night from hostelsclub. Thanks for them. So, the hotel is clean, relaxing and well equipped. And it is 2 or 5 minutes from St. Mark square.
