“Loved it. Comfortable and great location.”

My husband and I stayed at this hotel in September. The weather was a lovely 25-26 degrees around this time of year. Our train arrived into Venice at 11pm, so we arrived at the hotel quiet late. We emailed ahead and the reception stayed open for our arrival. Check in was efficient and professional.

We stayed in a room on the top floor with a balcony area off it. The room had a double bed and a single. It was very quiet and comfortable. The bathroom was well maintained and clean. We loved having the balcony area. We would sit out there into the late evenings listening to the sounds of the locals play their Italian operatic music into the open air from their houses.

The breakfasts were very nice, with plenty of choices. We enjoyed sitting in the outdoor dining area, eating and relaxing as the first stream of bus tours made their way into the old city. The outdoor breakfast area is set up on level 1 under a canopy of trees, so you feel very private as you watch the world wake up and start moving.

The hotel location is fantastic. It is about a 10 min walk to St Marks square.

This resort has a very strong family run feel, which adds to the warm feel of the place.

We thought this hotel was fantastic value and highly recommend it. We have recommended it to friends who have also stayed here. They just loved it too. We will definitely return.

**Attend a baroque concert held in one of their churches in the evening. It was divine. Definitely a highlight of out trip. The architecture, the music.. agghhhh memories!

Room Tip: **Choose the top floor room, if possible. The balcony area is definitely a bonus and a lovely way to...

“Comfortable, Charming, Quiet, and Convenient”

Celebrating our 15th anniversary in Venice, Ca' San Rocco seemed a good choice from the reviews. The rooms were large and wonderfully clean, and while we were initially concerned that we were not staying right on the main strip, we found the 5 minute walk to the vaporetto easy, and the location was peaceful and charming. Breakfast on the 2nd floor patio was fabulous - covered by a green arbor, wonderful cappuccino, they provide a satisfying breakfast with a good selection of meat, cereal, juices, breads. The two sisters who are the inn keepers are wonderful - when our luggage was delayed they gave us good recommendations on shopping (so we could attend the Opera that night), and once they arrived, they carried our heavy bags up three flights of stairs, and made us feel welcome. Take their advice and try the pizza place just a few streets away - the rotisserie shaved chicken and mushroom pie we had there was the best!

“A wonderful experience”

Staying here was a great experience and a perfect choice to end our stay in Italy. We stayed here for three nights and it was my favorite of the 4 hotels we stayed in on our trip. It is a quaint, tasteful, smaller, well-kept inn. The 2 women running the hotel were very accomodating. The rooms are a nice size and furnished tastefully. It was great waking up to the smell of couissants baking. I can't say enough nice things about this experience.

“Carnivale In Venice February 2011”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2011

We spent 4 nights here during the Carnivale in February last and had a wonderful experience of being looked after very well by Irene and Valentina and their very
helpful staff. It is very near bus and train stations, every where is within walking distance

Room Tip: All rooms are quite as the hotel is behind a walled garden, (not on the street)

“Very Dissapointing, Horrible Attitude”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2011

We stayed at this hotel for two nights at the end of October. We were finalising our one month stay in Italy and this hotel was by far and away the worst that we had stayed in. Real character comes out when everything doesn’t work to plan and this hotel showed that in abundance.

We accidently booked the room a day early, on the 22nd. We only realised our mistake on the morning of the 23rd. When we arrived, the ladies who running the hotel gave us horrible attitude and one gave us a lecture on how they were waiting up all night for us. This disregards the fact that we said we would be arriving at around midday and they had a perfectly good phone number and email address that they could contact us on. They continued to give us horrible attitude every time we saw them. The whole stay was unbelievably uncomfortable.

We stayed the full two nights, all be it pushed back a day. We asked the staff and they said that they were not fully booked. They were no worse off for us missing the night. They still charged us for the night we didn’t show up to. We understand that they can technically charge us for this, yet it left us with a bitter taste in our mouths and 180 Euro out of pocket.

GENERAL POSITIVES: The rooms were well cleaned and the cleaning staff were very nice. The location was very good as it was out of the hustle and bustle but still an easy walk from all the main attractions.

GENERAL NEGATIVES: Our room was on the second story and up a tight winding staircase. This makes carrying two sets of luggage extremely difficult as there was no porter (not really expected) and no lift. They have carpets all over the timber floors. Both my wife and I were constantly slipping on them. The WiFi is not free (to be expected), was unreliable and slow. We had to purchase more because the connection was dropped yet the timer still consumed one and a half hours. There was no point explaining this to the ladies because they would have given us more bad attitude. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. The croissants weren’t cooked properly and the coffee was HORRIBLE.

Overall we were extremely happy with the standard of Italian hotels but this one just let them all down. 2/5.

Room Tip: If you have any physical issues then make sure you request a room on the first floor. There is no li...
