My husband and I stayed at the Sant Angelo in Oct., 2006. The location was wonderful (right next to a vaporetto stop...which meant there was no getting lost on the way home!), the breakfast was great (hot and cold selections), yogurts, fresh fruits, cereal, etc. and the room and bathroom were spacious and modern. However, some of the front desk staff were indifferent to us and other guests and the bell-man could not be found when we needed our luggage retrieved. Most significantly, the heat in the room could not be adjusted despite our requests from the staff for assistance. Overall, though the ambiance, the location, the food and the accommodations outweighed the negatives. And, because of the postivies (despite the above negatives), we would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

We booked this hotel after reading reviews on Tripadvisor. What a great find. It was ideally located near the San Marco Plaza. The rooms were basic but spacious enough. They had televisions (no clocks) and nice bathrooms. We had air conditioning. The breakfast buffet was very satisfying. The staff was pleasant. The hotel was very clean.

We had two rooms and were traveling with two teenagers so the reasonable price and the breakfast buffet came in very handy. I would stay there again.

Sant Angelo is in a great location - near the Rialto and St.Marks sq and is right on the canal with its own dock and boat stop right there...they have a small breakfast and well equipped rooms that were clean and a very nice breakfast - we thought it was a little much - we paid 275 euros a night - and our room had a garden view - but we would reccomend it to anyone staying in venice

We arrived at the Palazzo Sant Angelo on Sunday August 6th at dusk just in time to view the grand canal at its finest. The best thing about this hotel ,outside of its charm and hospitality is its location. Literally 150 ft off the Valporetta #1 Sant Angelo stop!!. Its water front entrance is 1 of a kind and has an ideal location for all of Venice. The staff was extremly courteous and the rooms very clean and well appointed with fabric wallpaper not seen in 4 star hotels. It is listed in the SBH (Small Boutique Hotels guide) as one of the top picks in Italy. The breakfest buffett was equally as charming with a friendly atmosphere and plenty to choose from. The hotel arranged a tour to Murano at one of thier suggested factories. There are many confusing issues over the hotels and thier affiliations to the Murano factories, in our case we were very pleased with the selection and had a great expierence provided you know what you want and what you are willing to pay. As a high end hotel we were treated to a high end factory. I have traveled all over the world and I would highly recommend this hotel.
