“FABULOUS!!”

Just back after 3 nights here and we couldn't have asked for better. We had the same views as the big historic hotels facing the lagoon but without the price tag. Just a minute or so from St Mark's Square and very easy to find your way back to once you're used to not looking for a grand entrance. The doorway is easy to miss behind a souvenir stall, but once you're inside it feels personal with just the right sort of interior design to remind you that you are in an hotel in Venice. We had a top floor room with a balcony from which we took an amazing array of photographs to rival anything from the travel books. Waking up to the views and sounds of the lagoon and stepping from a draped four poster bed onto a tiled balcony with white-washed balustrades was simply magical! The breakfast is basic but adequate - buns, croissants, muesli, yoghurts, meats and cheeses - but it is probably not worth mentioning the fruit flavoured drinks on offer.
The place is lovely and clean and every worker there was cheerful and interested in passing on information to you. A great place to stay.

“Wonderful hotel and staff”

This hotel is a great budget option. Location is great, right next to a water taxi stop and only a short walk to St Marcus Square. Lovely and quiet with traditionally decorated rooms. Comfy sleep and typical continental breakfast which we were perfectly happy with. Staff are lovely, so happy to help and with great English, overall would definitely recommend!!

“Great hotel with great views and location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

A rather old hotel, a little rustic but definately in good condition. We stayed in 2 rooms and both were facing the water...so it was beautiful. Staff were great and spoke good english. Location was great and convenient to the river boats (to the train station and to Murano island if you would like to visit the glass factories).

The only improvement would be the toiletries provided. They only had small bars of soap and shampoo cam in a hard to open plastic packet (rather than bottles you expect for a hotel of this standard).

Room Tip: Get one with a water view

“Magic”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

Magic, that's our stay in this small beautiful Garni in Venice. The room (for 3) was perfect big enough, clean, well furnished and with the view on the laguna!
The personnel was friendly and prepared.
The only bad remark is for the breakfast: needs to be improved, the quality was not sufficient

Room Tip: View on the laguna!

“Amazing view, excellent location”

The hotel is very well located, 100 meters away from boats to the train station / airport (Arsenal station) and very close to St. Marcus Square. Don't expect much luxury, but if you look for comfort, very nice staff at a decent price this the ideal base to explore the city walking and by public transport.
Two additional comments: try to get a room with a lagoon view. We asked for it and we got a fantastic room with a balcony facing the lagoon. Wonderful! Second, it has Wi-fi but at a price (5€/day). I really think they could improve that, for me it is an increasingly basic thing hotels should offer, particularly in tourist-oriented locations.
All in all, very good stay, I will certainly bet back there if I return to Venice!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with Lagoon view. Ask for the name of the Pizzeria on a square close to St. Marcus: t...
