It is very well located near the San Toma vaporetto stop. The room was OK but we couldn't figure out how to turn on the AC - it was very hot. We opened the windows to sleep and were stuck with many mosquitoes all night. Also the street noise was horrible. The breakfast was very nice. Marco seemed nice but was mostly unavailable for help. We probably wouldn't choose to stay there again.

30 steps from the S Toma vaporetto water bus stop made this place ideal. Get off the vaporetto, walk down the only street, turn left, third or fourth door on the left, easy! . Humble rooms with comfy beds and a great breakfast upstairs made this place ideal for us. Air conditioned. Very clean, nice trilingual French lady runs the place. Very helpful. Gave us a handy map to navigate our way. Close to nice restaurant on San Toma square. Very honest; we were storing our luggage with her for the day as we checked out, but were flying out later that night, I had over paid our room( in cash) and she had waited all day to give me back the amount I had over paid! This place is a bit out of the noisy area but with quick access to the Grande Canal! Buy a vaporetto pass and you can zoom home easy to shower and change for dinner or just take a break from the day.

Al Campaniel is conveniently located a short level walk from the San Toma vaporetto stop. The instructions to fet there, provided by Marco, the owner, were very clear. Our nicely decorated room overlooked the street and was equipped with reverse cycle airconditioning, central heating and shutters on the windows. Closing them at night kept out any street noise (not that there was much) and also prevented the light waking us too early. The bathroom was well set up with plenty of towels; a hairdyer was available on request. In addition there were two easy chairs and a small table with tea and coffee making facilities, a feature we really missed in a number of establishments in Italy. The generous breakfast was served to us on the top floor.
I inadvertently left a necklace behind and when it was eventually found, Marco very kindly posted it me. I really appreciated this courtesy.

In terms of price, location and convenience to places ard Venice, it is worth it.

Room cleaned and quiet at night. All basic necessities are available.

A good option for another stay if coming back to Venice..
