“Amazing property, amazing people”

First praise goes to the comprehensive instructions which lead you from vaporetto stop S. Stae to the hotel doors, this is extremely undervalued in Venice.
Upon our arrival, we were immediately greeted and assistance given in carrying our very heavy bags. We were then offered, not asked for - offered, a complimentary room upgrade since they happened to have the room empty. We got to choose between room 2 (small room just behind reception), or room 31, a much larger second floor room in the hotel's second building. We chose the latter for fear of any noise we might get being behind reception.
The room is beautifully appointed with classic Venetian style in greens and golds. The bathroom is very generous in size and the bath itself is the first bath I've seen in Europe that a non miniature person could fit in. I cant speak for all rooms in the hotel, but our bed was VERY firm. We actually put blankets under the fitted sheet to pad it a little more! The rest of the property is just as beautiful as the room, all in keeping with the venetian stylings that make you feel like royalty.
The breakfast is simple, with fruits, cereal, croissants and bread rolls. However if you order a hot chocolate, beware its the thickest I've had so far in Europe.
The location is amazing, a short 30 second stroll from vaporetto stop San Stae, it's the perfect spot to launch your assault on Venice!
I can't speak highly enough of the staff here. Everyone is very friendly, and you are always greeted warmly upon coming down to breakfast. Upon choosing our room on the second floor in the separate building, one of the staff even carried a bag (nearly 30kg) up the stairs to help me out (I had a second 30kg bag). All of this comes for a very modest price, particularly considering its Venice!
Overall, amazing hotel, amazing staff, amazing location. Simply amazing.

Room Tip: We had room 31 in the separate building. The building is much more quiet being away from reception...

“A Fabulous Find”

Chose to stay here after reading numerous positive reviews on Trip Advisor. We have to add to their accolades. Perfect spot, well placed for venturing forth around Venice. Beautifully appointed rooms with stellar service and friendly staff who are more than happy to help with everything.
Close to the San Stae stop and easy to travel to and from the airport (unless the canals are freezing).
Highly recommend.

“A hotel personifying venetian charm and elegance”

A very short walk from the San Stae vaporetto stop, we arrived on the Alilaguna boat service from the airport - the best and most economical way (25 euro return ticket) to arrive at this hotel. We stayed in room 10 (junior suite with small balcony overlooking the courtyard), which was extremely spacious, full of fine venetian baroque furnishings - including a lovely four poster (himmel) bed. The bathroom was also spacious and very clean with a hydro-bath thrown in! The staff were extremely helpful, offering a number of restaurant choices when asked - lovely restaurant 'Osteria Mocenigo' on the San Stae main street very close to the hotel. Breakfast was simple but good - apricot croissants and bread rolls with whichever kind of coffee you cared to ask for. Free wifi in your room - a bonus for those who like that kind of thing. Italian three pin plugs were a problem, as euro adapters would not fit, but hotel staff again were extremely helpful having a number of English, european and American spare adaptors at reception if asked for. All in all a very comfortable and relaxing stay - Venice in winter may have been very cold for walking around, but then less tourists made for a more atmospheric and special feeling to the place. The Sante Croce district is well worth exploring and although away from the popular tourist haunts, it was very easy to get to anywhere in the city - invest in a Vaporetto 1/2/3 day ticket and it makes exploring the city all the more easier and enjoyable.

Room Tip: Use the Traghetto (Gondala) ferry points to cross the Grande canal like the locals - you get a cheap...

“The perfect place to stay in Venice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

A wonderful surprise for our stay in that quite hotel. Our room in the annex (20 meters away from the hotel) was nicely furbished in a totally venician style. The room had a large space, the king sized bed was really comfortable and the bathroom perfect with the bath (really welcomed after a long day walk in freezing temperatures !). The staff was really professional and helpfull. The breakfast was nice and sufficient with caring waitresses.
We will definitely go back there.
