“Find another place to stay!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

The 2 main problems with this place are a complete lack of knolwedge on how to run a hotel and, if you take a room with shared bathrooms - there are definitely not enough bathrooms and you could wait 45 minutes in a line to get in.

To begin with, when we checked in, the woman who appears to run the place, was extremely disorganized, first acting like we had no reservation, and then telling us 3 different room numbers. She also didn't give us a key, so we had to ask for it! The hotel is in 2 parts, so we were staying in the Biasin part across the canal. The problem was they did not give you a key for the outside door. So you always had to call on the intercom over to the other hotel to get buzzed in - which late at night means waking the woman up! She also didn't ask us about paying, so we assumed we would pay upon checkout. We had an early morning flight, so had to check out around 4 am. There are signs at Marte explicitely telling you to leave your key there when you check out. However, when we went over there to check out at 4 am, the woman yelled at us for walking her up to give us the key instead of leaving it in the room! And again, once we had left Biasin already, we couldn't get back in without waking her up using the intercom anyway, since you are given no outside door key. She also yelled at us for not having paid before - yet no one had ever asked us to pay before - and was upset that we wanted to use a credit card, though they advertise everywhere they accept credit cards.

Also, the breakfast that is included is not at the hotel itself, but they give you a coupon to go to a bar next door to get a drink and a croissant.

This place is deifnitely not worth the hassle.

“Ok for the price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2011

The hotel staff spoke just partially English and we had some troubles with the reservation but it turned out just fine- we got a triple room for five nights for a double room price. The room was tiny tiny, ok for two. Bed was small.the room was clean unlike the toilet we shared with one room-that was just sad-no one cleaned it during that 5 days. Showers were shared and clean. Hotel was cheap so cant complain. Very good location. Oh- breakfast (included in price) was a coffee and a croisant in a bar so not really a breakfast but i guessitalian breakfast.

“My half-review”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2011

Warning: I only saw the hotel lobby, so this is a half review. The last time I was in Venice (I go there often) I was wandering around the railway station area at night and took a turn on one of the side streets and passed this "hotel". I instantly did a double check and had to return and peer inside. It was so horrible looking, I could not believe my eyes. It looked like something from a gangster movie, tucked in a small alley, looking dated and old with no mantainance in the last 20 years. Actually it looked plain scary and seedy. A small dark mustard/brownish coloured reception area looked filthy. I did a lot of staring as there was no one at the reception desk and the door was wide open. There were strange types lurking around so I eventually took off, but not before I wrote down the hotel's name and googled it as I returned home. As I saw how high the prices could be and the bedroom photos, I figured you'd be better off spending the night on the train station; or go to Mestre to find something else, if Venice was absolutely occupied. I'd pay a maximum of 20 euros for the room! If so..

“The worst HOTEL I have ever been....”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 June 2011

I totally agree with iFung. How can it call a one-star HOTEL!! This is the worst HOTEL I have ever been. Don't be fooled by the beautiful photos on its website. If you book a room with shared bathroom, it's totally different. About 20 rooms in the hotel and shared only 3 shower rooms. One is without lock. They put 3 folder beds in a single room(general size of other hotel) and called that a 3-bed room. They let me even don't want to go to Venice again!!!

“oh....I don't realise it is a HOTEL?!”

well, I totally agree with dana9880.
We stayed at this HOTEL for 3 nights. I really don't know how it could be a hotel. I think it's overrated, in my opinion, it's not even a guest house or hostel.... It really bad! We went to Hotel Marte to check in and we didn't don't that they have 2 hotel. We were assigned to stay in HOTEL BIASIN. We have to cross the bridge from Hotel Marte. The old lady was at the reception, she even doesn't know what she is doing about. I have to remain her and calculate the room rate for her. When I asked her questions, she replied me "I am tired, there's so many tourist for today". I don't expect any service from this HOTEL, but I didn't expect such reply! There's no staff at Hotel Biasin, the hotel door is always open and there's only one CCTV placed at the reception. Do you think it's enough? Sorry, I don't think so. Anybody can go into the HOTEL, even you are not the guest. We all so surprise when we enter to the room. The room is soooooo small , we can't leave our luggage open. No view in the room, oh yeah, there's a view "Old building wall". It just like a jail, facing the wall and you can't even see the sky from the room!!! The shower room is really really terrible! It's not a shower room. only a room with the overhead shower. very dirty!!!!! Somebody even use that "shwer room" for smoking!!! NO INTERNET in HOTEL BIASIN!!! If you want to use the wifi, you have to go to HOTEL MARTE!?!?!?! I think this hotel better mention in their web site!
