I spent one night here after a visit to Bologna - we had an early flight from Venice so had to stay within easy reach of the airport. The locanda is well situated, in a narrow alley not far from the Rialto. We were a group of 9 friends and had to share rooms - but were charged 72 euros per person rather than per room. The breakfast was meagre - we had to say the night before whether we wanted tea, coffee OR fruitjuice! We had just stayed in a hotel in Bologna where the enormous breakfast set us up for the day so this tiny breakfast was a bit of a letdown!
I liked the faded opulence - chandeliers, drapes, marble floors and antique furniture, I didn't like the fact that the shower screen was broken, we had to ask for towels, and the stairs were the steepest I've ever had to carry a suitcase up! I know that accomodation is expensive in Venice but I wouldn't stay here again.More
