“Typical Venetian Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

If it is your first time in Venice, you will be surprised by how little your money gets you. As hotels in Venice go, however, it is pretty good. The breakfast was mediocre, and the rooms smelled slightly of the canals, but these things are typical. The highlight was the unexpected canal view - something that most hotels would charge extra for.

“Great Location”

For me, this hotel has a perfect location in Cannaregio (my favourite part of the city). Although only a hundred metres north of the Strada Nuova, its location in a charming courtyard is as quiet as you could wish. The hotel itself is very good. We had a deluxe room with a decent canal view, well furnished and a good size. Standard rooms may be much smaller of course. The staff were helpful though unobtrusive. Breakfast is fine, although I wasn't a big fan of the coffee from the machine. We visited in January, a highly recommended time to go to Venice if you wrap up warm, and so the room rate was good value.
Overall, I would heartily recommend this hotel.

“Good little hotel”

We stayed out of season in Ca'Doro so got a good rate :)
Our room was a deluxe so quite spacious for the two of us - included a flat screen tv with some satellite channels (BBCW, CNN etc) and a mini bar. The staff were helpful and friendly

My only gripe was the lack of wi-fi in rooms makes it hard for business travellers to keep up to date, but no doubt this will improve in the future.

“Very good hotel, coveniently located, helpful staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

Our room was the smallest of the hotel, but big enough for two people. It was very clean, had shower and WC, cable TV. Buffet breakfast was ok, with cakes, jam, bread, fruit, biscuits. Coffee, capuccino, chocolate, milk were served by machine. WiFi didn't work in the rooms, but there was a free pc in the hall.
Staff was very kind and helpful. In low season the price was very cheap but in high season the hotel can be overpriced.
Location was very convenient, 10 minutes walk to Rialto Bridge, 25-30 minutes walk to San Marco Square. The nearest public boat stop (Fondamenta Nove) was just 10 minutes walk. From there San Marco is 45 minutes by boat, Murano 5 minutes, Burano 45 minutes.

Room Tip: If you have children rooms can be a little too small

“Outstanding view!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

When I booked our room I picked a "canal view" and honestly wasn't expecting much. But when I opened our shutters I literally said "WOW!" and then I tried picking my jaw off the ground. The views we had were wonderful and everything you could ever want from a Venetian view. Our room was also great (we had a junior suite), but we paid 110% more than on any other night (stayed there over NYE). The junior suite, by the way, is comparable in size to a "normal" American room. It was a bit of a walk from the train station, so I'm glad we only brought a backpack with us, and the directions we had got us a little lost, so it took even more time to find the hotel. The actual location is in a great place, and we felt comfortable walking around at night. Breakfast was good: meats, cheese, pastries, cereal, juice, coffee, etc. I would consider staying here again in the future...just at regular room rates!

Room Tip: Junior suite came with a FANTASTIC view.
