After having trouble finding this hotel we arrived at the reception desk where we were given our key and shown our room. The reception staff and man who took us to our room were unfriendly and sterile. The room was as shown in their photos, nothing special, and smaller than we thought. We even upgraded to a junior suite before we arrived, but to be honest this suite is actually a standard room with a bench type seat. Wifi was 6 euros an hour, or 20 euros a day.
We felt very let down by this hotel and its unfriendly staff, and decided to cancel the next two nights. We were having a drink in the compo st Maria when we saw the Ruzzini hotel. We went in and asked if they had any rooms available for the nxt two nights, and not only did they advise us on the room selections, they showed us rooms available. We moved out of the Bonvecchiati.
When I approached the reception desk to change hotels, I gave room 106 instead of 160 by mistake, and the man informed me quite sternly, that there was no room 106 and proceeded to serve another couple. (this couple had a baby in a pram, and i overheard him say they could have a cot put in their room for 35 euros a night!! They declined.) So I waited till he had finished with that couple and again approached him with the correct room number. We would not recommend or go back to this hotel.
