we arrived towards the end of our trip in italy, so we thought we understood reasonable expectations of service (towels, breakfast, second cups of hot liquids at breakfast).
the casa pisani provided no services and were unpleasant bordering on hostile towards its guests at its one service, breakfast. each breakfast brought another unpleasant exchange with guests. if it weren't vacation, it would be almost a hoot to wonder what requests would be thwarted next.
it reminded me of my student travels in hostels which seemed policed rather than administered.
since this place is also difficult to locate, just as well to pass on it despite it's mention in rick steve's guide.

Anna the manageress was particularly helpful and very informative of what is going on in the city as generally its very expensive city to visit.

We had a junior suite, which was a large and beautiful room with a comfortable 4 poster bed, windows that looked out over the canal with gondolas passing by , damask fabric on the wall and a clean bathroom.

however it is really an annexe of the locanda canal hotel, and there is no reception area . We had no problems with checking in, even though it was late at night, we rang the buzzer and someone came within about 5 minutes, and we were able to leave our bags there on our last day until departure time.

however there is no staff there after breakfast/mid morning, so if you want help booking restaurants etc this is not the place for you.
Also on our last day it rained torrentially, and it would have been nice to be able to go back to our hotel to change, sit and have a coffee etc, but as we had checked out that was not possible as there is no lounge area.

these are not major problems and for me the quality of the room, the convenient central location and the relatively cheap price ( by Venice standards) made up for them, but it might not suit someone who needed more personal service.
