I splurged a bit on this hotel for a friend and myself. Ca del Brocchi is in a quiet, clean neighbourhood with real Venetians living in the vicinity. Easy walking distance from the Accademia Bridge vaporetto stop (note: I had a backpack - the walk with its many stairs and bridges might not seem so easy if you are lugging around a suitcase). The roooms are decorated in a traditional, ornate Venetian manner, which was lovely. The breakfast room was charming and the breakfast itself was good. A couple of drawbacks: we were there in late May and it was already very warm. With no airconditioning I left the windows open at night; however, the resident mosquitoes were a bit too friendly for my liking. Also, I had to call the front desk at night for something urgent and there was no one there. I then called the "emergency" number and there was no answer and there didn't seem to be a way to make a direct dialled call myself. I mentioned this to the front desk fellow in the morning and he didn't seem bothered by that at all. So, if there'd been a real emergency, that wouldn't have been good. In sum, it's a nice place, but will I stay somewhere else next time I go? Probably.
