We stayed at this hotel 3 yrs ago and were upgraded to a Superior Room. It was lovely and spacious and we were delighted with it. This time we booked a Superior Room and we were shocked to be shown to a very small room. I went to reception, round the corner at the Savoia e Jolanda and was told that "superior" means that you get a view onto the piazza not that you get a bigger room. We offerred to pay more for a larger room but were told that nothing was available.
We did have the view of the pretty church of San Zaccaria and the room was perfectly fine and comfortable, just very small with very litle space for luggage. The bathroom was not too small and did look to have been freshened up recently, both tiles and paint were sparkling.
Breakfast is at the Savoia e Joland and is just fine, the location is great.
When we were last there Villa Igea still had it's own reception and it did seem a little neglected now that it does not.
So overall, this is a decent hotel in Venice, but we were disappointed to find we did not get the size room we thought we had booked.
