Nice hotel and perfect location to visit Venice! Rooms are big and comfortable, staff friendly.

Brief and to the point.. The staff was friendly. My room was wonderul. Large by American standards. Bathroom was large with a whirlpool tub. First floor view of the canal. The hotel appears to have been updated. Long Distance calls only by calling card. My brothers room (107) was a make shift closet next the the breakfast room. He had ear plugs. One thing about Venice, rooms come in all sizes and shapes. Hotel was in a great location... The first night you may need to leave a trail of bread crumbs to get your navigation in check as Venice streets twist and turn. I would love to stay again (just don't put me in the closet room #107)

Everything about this hotel was great except that the staff started off on the wrong foot with me. The people in the front desk were very courteous and professional but when I checked-in, they decided to upgrade me from a “Conti Querini Comfort” room to a “Classic” room without letting me know. The classic room is actually 10 euros more per night but to me it was not worth it. The classic room (in the actual hotel) was spacious but had mold and it smelled pretty bad. I noticed that the room was not the one that I wanted, so I went to the desk to express my concern. Then, the manager told me that he decided to upgrade me. I asked him to show me my actual room so I can decide. Even though the Conti Querini rooms are located 100 yards away from the hotel in a different building, I would not trade them. The Conti Querini rooms are beautiful and recently renovated; they look much modern. Breakfast was excellent. All remote controls were out of batteries and there was no permanent staff to assist us at the Conti Querini so they came from the hotel after I called them. Location is great since it is easy to get from the St. Mark’s Basilica (very important in Venice since it is easy to get lost). Everything was great but the “upgrade” left me a bad feeling about the professionalism of the staff. Just because of that, I might not stay at this hotel the next time I visit Venice.

Great location. Use the map in the hotel website to find how to get to hotel. We took a ferry from Marco Polo airport to San Zaccaria vaperetto stop which is the closest to the hotel. Easy walk with no stairs from there.
We had a room on the fifth floor up a steep little staircase. Only three rooms on this floor, with view across to San Marco bell tower. There is a tiny lift that we used to get to the fourth floor, but walked the stairs each day to leave the hotel.
Breakfast is good. Cereal, yoghurt, toast, bread rolls with meat and cheese and sweet rolls. Coffee and tea in plentiful supply. Hot breakfast is at an extra charge of euro 2.50. Breakfast is served on the second floor with some rooms leading straight into the breakfast set up. this might be a problem.
There is a self service laundry a few streets behind the hotel. In Ruga Giuffa. This street runs off Campo Santa Maria Formosa. Easy to use and open from 6am to midnight.
Highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Venice.
