“What a delight”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2011

The owner Davide runs another hotel in Venice and he is now bringing his magic to Ca' Bauta since the spring of 2010!

Beautiful hotel - the rooms are superb, the staff friendly and only too willing to help and advise! Easy to find in a beautiful residential area near the hospital yet superbly located for easy access to Venice and the islands.

Excellent local restaurants - no Menu Touristica - offering superb value for money and authentic and delightful food.

Highly recommended - going to Venice give it a try - you will pay a lot more elsewhere for grossly inferior facilities!

“"Old World' charm, good space, quiet"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2010

This was my second visit to Ca Bauta and it couldn't have been nicer. Our host, David, was fun and so helpful, drawing maps when he directed us places. Big rooms, good shower, true Venetian atmosphere. Castello district is convenient to San Marco but quiet. If there's a negative, it's the lack of internet access, but with Venice Connected internet, a short walk to Santa Maria Formosa puts you in touch with the "real' world.

“Elegance, comfort and wonderful service-like your own home in Venice”

We came to Ca Bauta after being at the Hilton Molino Stucky for 3 nights @ 450 per night. I was skeptical when my wife said she booked us into this "hostle" she found on the web. From the moment we arrived I was impressed and pleased. I rate this hotel as being better than the Hilton. David greated us warmly like his American relatives, he took the time and patience to draw us maps of how to reach the water taxi, where to eat and how to get around. Ca Bauta is located in a residential section of Costello not far from Piazza San Marco, but without the tourists. I felt as if this was my own home in Venice and in my neighborhood. Located near the Campo Giovanni e Paolo, I found the area charming and romantic. I absolutely LOVED being in the Campo, enjoying the cafes and the ambiance. Ca Bauta has wonderful breakfasts served to you on linen and nice china. The coffee was some of the best of our trip. The room was wonderful and comfortable and quiet. The A/C worked better than the AC at the Hilton and it was very hot in Venice when we visited. The hotel has a private courtyard to enjoy. I truly felt as if I had my own home and could experience life in Venice like a native. I would return in an instant. David, Christina, Sara and Alberto make living at Ca Bauta a totally wonderful experience. Leaving was difficult to do. A plus---they all speak English very well.

the hotel is in a medieval building, with only six, but very large rooms. The staff is very friendly and helpfull.

“A perfect little hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 April 2009

We went there with 3 kids and a dog and we stayed in the Quadruple room. We were happy troughout our stay! Very quiet area and still very convienently located.

The staff was very helpful and gave many unvaluable tips for our stay. Every other guest that we spoke to were also very happy with the hotel!

The breakfast is probably the only thing that could have been richer. Altough Italian hotel breakfasts are normally fairly sparse. You will need the extra space in your tummy to fit the three course lunch that is offered in every restaurant.
