Very good value at circa €75 for a double. Free parking, and a bus at five minutes walking will take you to Venice in less than 10 minutes at a cost of €1.20. You can also take a water bus for the same cost, and the Hotel will advise where you need to go for this.
Staff pleasant and helpful, and both hotel and rooms were all very clean. Similar accomodation in Venice would cost €140, plus a further possible €25 for car parking (no point in having a car in Venice, as it is just becomes a liability). Breakfast was as good as we had received in far more expensive hotels, and overall, I would have no negatives in relation to this hotel.
Beware of scams in restaurants: Sometimes, they will place an additional dish on the table, but insist it be removed, otherwise you will find it on your bill!! Sometimes they say
'' This is for the table '', and proceed to invoice you for same. Also be aware that a lot of restaurants will charge you €2 per person to sit down (this is allegedly for bread, but consists of factory bread sticks which you wouldnt even eat!!) They will also charge 12.5% for service, so a simple cheap lunch (sandwich/drink or similar) will set you back
€15 per person. Always ask about cover charge and service, as many of them do not charge it. We had an excellent evening meal at the Canal Grande restaurant (beside Rialto Bridge with our table directly overlooking all the activity on the canal). The food was very adequate, the staff entertaining, and the tourist menu for 2 courses and a glass of prosecco, was only €14 per person. We ordered further wine, desserts, drinks etc., but were not under any pressure to do so. Also a very good coffee stop just up past the
''Bridge of Sighs'', where none of the cover or service charges apply.
